The location of this hotel and the view from our room dazzled us. We thought we'd died and gone to heaven. It was helpful to have a car to get to it, as we did, but one could easily use a taxi or Uber from the train station (may be costly though). That's part of why it is so beautiful--it is a ways above the town, very quiet, with absolutely stunning views in all directions. We could not have been more charmed. The host and his wife are lovely. We did not use the breakfast option, so cannot comment on that. But we loved having a kitchen with fridge and dishes. We made our own meals, as did others.

I’d give this 11/10 if I could. Honestly, Grindelwald far outdid any expectation I had, but the hostel is one of the best I’ve ever stayed in. The view from our room was to die for, almost didn’t want to leave!

The staff over here are exceptional. My biggest thanks to Simona working there. She was the best and made the whole experience of staying there wonderful. She makes sure that every person who stays there is having a good time. She takes care of everyone like a family and speaks with warmth. If the management is reading this you should really appreciate her personally. She was excellent. Also excellent ladies at the reception. They are so welcoming and kind. This is what I look for in a perfect hotel.
