Great location, friendly staff and really good breakfast. Our little cottage was incredibly cosy and perfect for our 1-night-stay. There is a tiny church and cemetery on the grounds which adds an interesting/historical touch.

Located in Neskaupstaður in the East Iceland region, Skorrahestar provides accommodation with free private parking, as well as access to a hot tub. The property has mountain and garden views. Skorrahestar is a gem. From the warm greeting by the owners who treat you like family to the excellent beds and showers to the exceptional breakfast (mostly home made from scratch) we had the most wonderful time. You also get full access to the huge and more than well equipped kitchen so you can prepare your own meals. Going riding is a pleasure as well, the horses are well schooled and the surroundings are beautiful. We will definitely go back there next time we're in the East Fjords.

Tehúsið Hostel & Guesthouse has a garden, shared lounge, a terrace and restaurant in Egilsstadir. The common area, the kitchen and the comfortable bed and linens were amazing. As well as the affordable price during low season (we were the only ones in the hostel). The hostel was clean, functional and the staff friendly.

Boasting a garden, Fjalladýrð Guesthouse is set in Modrudalur and also provides a bar and a shared lounge. Featuring a concierge service, this property also provides guests with a picnic area. We stayed with seven friends. The spaces were adequate, the equipment excellent and the cleanliness excellent. We had the whole house at our disposal. Amazing atmosphere!

Set in a renovated farmhouse, this guest house is located by Lake Lagarfljót in Eglisstadir village. Very nice hotel near the lake. Clean room, quiet, the view, tasty breakfast. Good restaurant. Perfect.

Berjaya Hérað Hotel is situated in Egilsstadir, 5 km from Lagarfljot River. It offers a terrace bar and 24-hour room service. All rooms have Wi-Fi, satellite TV and wooden floors. The service here was absolutely wonderful, really above and beyond! The lounge area was great for happy hour and the rooms were cozy with a nice view of the snowy mountains.

Set in Skjöldólfsstaðir, Hotel Studlagil offers 3-star accommodation with a garden, a restaurant and a bar. The hotel features family rooms. At the hotel, all rooms come with a desk. Good breakfast with everything needed. The staff was really nice and they even offered some traditional Icelandic cake at the end! The room was big, clean and tidy. This is really near the Stuðlagil Canyon so I recommend staying here if this is you first or last stop in the day.
