Opened in June 2018, Hotel 1001 Nott offers modern accommodation 5 km from Egilsstadir. The hotel features outdoor hot tubs overlooking Lake Lagarfljót. There is also an on-site bar. Quiet, stylish and calm. The pleasant surprise was hot bath with a lake view and warm bathrobes. Breakfast was also good with a fresh home-made omelette (not very common in other hotels). Staff was very nice and helpful.

Featuring a restaurant and cafe on site, Blabjorg Resort is in the fishing village of Borgarfjordur Eystri, 71 km from Egilsstadir. Beautiful private room with a balcony. Staff was super friendly. The adjacent spa is small, but intimate, offering hot pools, cold bath and three different types of saunas. Last but not least, the resort offers food and drinks at their restaurant (including beers from the local brewery). We loved our stay here!

Featuring river views, Hjartarstaðir Guesthouse offers accommodation with patio, around 37 km from Gufufoss. There is a private entrance at the bed and breakfast for the convenience of those who stay.... We stayed in the apartment and it was lovely and well-appointed. The little patio area in front was so nice since we were blessed with a beautiful day. Sitting outside with a coffee and watching and listening to the birds in the meadow right outside was delightful. We had been in Bakkagerdi earlier in the evening to view the puffins (1 million stars/10 on that experience) and this was the perfect place to spend the night, since it was less than an hour from there but also gave us a little bit of a head start on our clockwise ring road journey for the next day's travels.

Located in Neskaupstaður in the East Iceland region, Skorrahestar provides accommodation with free private parking, as well as access to a hot tub. The property has mountain and garden views. Hosts were lovely, gave us a lot of recommendations and told us a lot about Iceland. They were very helpful letting us checking in late after a long drive. The place is clean and nice and they really think about every little detail! Highly recommended!

Tehúsið Hostel & Guesthouse has a garden, shared lounge, a terrace and restaurant in Egilsstadir. Easy check in. We got the private room for four and it was more special than expected. Beds were comfortable and facilities were clean. We didn’t use the showers since we went to the hot springs before.

Berjaya Hérað Hotel is situated in Egilsstadir, 5 km from Lagarfljot River. It offers a terrace bar and 24-hour room service. All rooms have Wi-Fi, satellite TV and wooden floors. The staff were extremely helpful and accommodating when our plans changed multiple times due to the weather and subsequent road closures. Nice, spacious restaurant and bar area

Set in Skjöldólfsstaðir, Hotel Studlagil offers 3-star accommodation with a garden, a restaurant and a bar. The hotel features family rooms. At the hotel, all rooms come with a desk. I like the vintage style it has! The music so calm, the location saved us in the road.
