Grund was a warm and cozy respite from cold and extremely windy weather. The apartment was in a fantastic location in town - a short walk from the one small grocery store, a restaurant, and a waterfall. It was also an easy drive to all the amazing sights in the Snaefellsnes Peninsula. The kitchen and bathroom were recently updated. The kitchen has all you might need to cook - including an ample supply of spices and oils to use. All in all this was an amazing place to stay for our first two nights in Iceland.

Set in the quiet countryside of the Snæfellsnes Peninsula, this family-run guest house is 45 minutes’ drive from Stykkishólmur town centre. A well positioned accommodation ready to enter the Snæfellsnes Peninsula. We could dine at the guesthouse for an excellent evening meal. An excellent breakfast was included. They provided a freshly baked gluten free bread of a high quality.

We had a corner room with a view of the sea from 2 sides. It was incredible. Location is spectacular. Very peaceful and extremely remote. The hotel was comfortable, the room was spacious and uniquely oldy -worldy with monogrammed towels and luxurious bathrobes. It wasn’t cheap, but it was well worth it.
