AL hawiyah camp is situated in Ḩawīyah and has a heated pool and inner courtyard views. Staff were the standout especially Kumar. Location and remoteness differentiated this property from other desert resorts in the same category. Rooms were very comfortable.

Sama Al Wasil Desert Camp is located in Shāhiq and offers a restaurant buffet. It includes table tennis and darts. The accommodation will provide you with a seating area. I don’t have words to describe this experience. It was one of the best experiences of my life! I recommend 100% to go see the sunset (pack 1hour) to take a tour of the dunes, magic, no words to describe! And the quad bike activities it’s INCREDIBLE. Cinema night, dinner, breakfast, everything was amazing. Super good vibe thou

A recently renovated campground located in Bidiyah, Al Salam Desert Camp Bidiya features a shared lounge. Many many things to note for Al Salam camp, all of which positive. The camp is situated a bit in the beginning of Wahiba Sands, yet we still asked for a transfer/pick-up. Instead of scamming us and taking our money, they told us that its only 1-2km of bad road and any car can do it, and so we did and saved us some OMR. Then we arrived and instantly got a room upgrade, no reason given, but we couldn't deny it and so we ended up having the luxury tent with all the facilities needed, which was amazing. Dinner and breakfast and the other refreshments available were also outstanding But what made this stay special are two people - Naim and Zaher. With Naim we did a sunset quad tour. He was very patient and helpful despite seeing how hard it was for us to drive in the sand :D He helped us get unstuck and showed us a very beautiful desert location for the sunset. Despite the tour being listed for 45minutes, I think in total we spent 90minutes with all the issues and we still paid the same price! Then the next morning it was a sunrise dune bashing tour with Zaher, a local Omani from Bidiyah. This was the cherry on top - as a local he explained a lot about the desert, the animals, the people, the live in there and everything. He made us coffee in the sand, campfire, got us a nice carpet to relax and watch the sunrise. Then we played arab songs, danced, dune bashed and everything. It was amazing. So Naim and Zaher thank you !!!

Arabian Nights Resort & Spa features free bikes, outdoor swimming pool, a terrace and bar in Shāhiq. The resort offers both free WiFi and free private parking. They were very friendly during check-in. Separate from the resort, I had hired a private driver who attempted to extort me. Luckily I escaped the situation and a driver from the resort picked me up. Still, the driver continued to contact me asking for money and threatening to call the police. He even called the hotel several times. After explaining the situation the hotel staff were very understanding and helped to ward him off. Long story short, the staff will make you feel safe here! Anyway, they offer a range of fun cultural and physical activities to try. I did the Bedouin house tour, Sunset drive, Sand Boarding (highly recommend, good fun), and Camel ride. The food at the restaurant is good and portions are generous. The pool was nice and I wish I used it more.

Boasting a garden, a year-round outdoor pool and quiet street views, Golden Palm Oasis is set in Fulayj al Mashāʼikh. The property has mountain and garden views. The workers in that place are amazing. They took care of us all the time, they were really professional. The most amazing place was being able to swim in the middle of the desert. Also the quad experience is amazing.

Located in the middle of Sharqiya Sands of Oman’s Empty Quarter, Arabian Oryx Camp offers a Bedouin experience in the desert. Everything was arranged very well - transfer, including dunes and sunset, great buffet with big choices of delicious food. Dunes are very closed, so we could climb easy to meet sunrise. Calm and quiet place to watch the stars and relax.
