Everything was clean and the neighborhood is quiet. The view out onto the river was very nice. The apartment is located a few hundred meters from the central street of Kajaani. Pekka Heikkinen bakery is just around the corner which has excellent breads, pastries and coffee (with free refills!).

Just 10 minutes’ walk from Kajaani Railway Station, Original Sokos Hotel Valjus offers free sauna access and an on-site restaurant and bar. This fabulous hotel in the center of the little town Kajaani was way beyond what I had expected. The staff was so friendly and helpful. My room was clean, very modern and the bed was extremely comfy. I really didn't want to leave. Lunch and dinner in the downstairs restaurant were outstanding. Something I would have expected to find in a big city.
