A good location for a hassle-free holiday in Luang Prabang, NamKhan Horses Stables is a campground surrounded by views of the mountain. I stayed in a small tent for one night and it was more comfortable then some hotels i had in the past. Great pricepoint and the location is beautiful. The tent was equipped with everything necessary like a light, towels, a comfortable matress with warm blankets and even electricity insinde the tent. Everything is kept in great shape and the staff was super friendly and helpful. At the campsite they offer lots of activities including spending time with the horses they have. Just a great place to stay and spend time.

Located in Luang Prabang, 6 km from Night Market, The Namkhan, a Small Luxury Hotel of the World provides accommodation with an outdoor swimming pool, free private parking, a fitness centre and a... Well managed resort, where employees at the reception, pool or restaurant seem to know you by name. Not sure how they do this, because we don't carry badges or post our photo somewhere. Very spacious accommodation with view on river and romantic and comfortable sleeping in tent with airco. Cosy warm LED lighting at night. Quiet at nights with only sounds of animals and no music, bars or traffic. Facilities are clean and of good quality. Free access to sauna and free use of mountain bikes. Very good breakfast and dinner with high quality organic food in restaurant with view on the river and very friendly and welcoming staff. Free shuttle to the center of Luang Prabang. We discovered this place by coincidence on a bike tour while staying at an other hotel and extended our stay in Luang Prabang to stay here. In hindsight, we would have preferred to stay here more nights if we had discovered it earlier.

Situated in Luang Prabang, 1.6 km from Night Market, Madilao Hotel features accommodation with an outdoor swimming pool, free private parking, a garden and a terrace. We loved everything about this hotel. Its open since 1.5 years so everything is still pretty new. The whole area, balconies etc. has beautiful plants and flowers around which are well maintained. Rooms are big, clean and modern. Staff is very helpful to organize transfers, motorbike, etc. Pool is also nice with comfortable loungers and free pool towers available. We also used the big and spacious gym a lot with is a big bonus if you want to do some sports. We rented a motorbike through the hotel for 200/ day which is the standard price you also pay in the city. Food in the restaurant was also decent and not overpriced. Breakfast offers fruits, yoghourt and some warm dishes incl. eggs - not the biggest selection but sufficient. We stayed for 5 nights and could have stayed much longer.

Located at the tip of the peninsula in the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Luang Prabang, Mekong Riverview Hotel is a beautiful boutique hotel with views of the great Mekong River and Nam Khan River. We spent 12 glorious days at this hotel and loved every minute.
Great spot, indicated by so many travellers present. Lovely location, with quite a few options of things to do. Night markets are huge, with a big range of crafts and clothing items available. Numerous options for accommodation, and eating. A pleasant attitude to the high number of travellers, and smiling faces area very nice.
Luang Prabang was a hidden gem! The locals were all so welcoming and let us join in at their favorite restaurants and bars. Nothing beats sitting on the Mekong with a BeerLao or taking a cruise at sunset down the river. We could have spent so much more time here. Though there wasn't the street coffee we love in Thailand, the street smoothies were delicious!! We did do the waterfalls one day but wished we skipped - it was so manufactured. Sure it was busy but what bothered us was how built out everything was, really making edits to the natural beauty. Also, the bears there do not have much room and are surrounded by people all day which I found sad. But, Luang Prabang itself is amazing. Go, eat, drink, & hang with the locals. Such kind and welcoming people!
We visiting the KuangSi Waterfall and had more fun than expected. Climbed to the top, did the ziplines, enjoyed some drinks at the treehouse to cool off and then swam in the chilly waterfall pools for a really refreshing dip. Loved the drive through the countryside and ate lunch at the Bamboo Farm. Bamboo tea was delicious. Stopped by the Buffalo Dairy for some cheese and ice cream, but not sure if I would do that part again, since it was nothing unusual. Visited the Hmong Village and really enjoyed that interaction. Definitely make that stop to get an up close, personal look at the Hmong life. Next time, we will visit the Ou Caves and take the train to other cities, as well. Plan enough time to see Laos!
I was working remotely while in Luang Prabang so six days was good as my time to explore was limited. If I had unlimited free time, I’d say that 3-4 days would be sufficient. Luang Prabang feels unspoiled and charming, very laid-back. The night market sells touristy goods but it was fun and there is no hard sell taking place. There is a great choice of restaurants to cater for all tastes.
Luang Prabang surprised me, it's quiet slow pace, morning and night markets, great experience. Mekong River is majestic. If you like the Buddhist philosophy this is your destination. I booked 2 nights and stayed 6
The friendliest, coolest place on Earth. There are plenty of places to go, to visit, to do. More importantly, it is a great place to just BE! A visit to Luang Prabang for me would be incomplete without at least a couple of visits to Big Brother Mouse where tourists can meet and chat with locals - English speaking practice for them, cultural learning for visitors! Mandalao Elephant Sanctuary is a great place to visit. For bars, restauants: I recommend the Rainforest Bistro and Bar, Khaippen Training Restaurant, Alounvasath Bakery Restaurant, the barbecue restaurant oppositive Wat Visoun and the B82. Please, please, please DO NOT RIDE ELEPHANTS!
