It was a lovely fresh clean motel we were there for only one nite to attend a birthday celebration. When we got back to the motel it appeared the bed had been used as a couch and the $400 dollar bottle of parfum that was on the bed was gone. Strange we did not turn the tv on nor lie on the bed so it was rather obvious someone had when we saw it

We had perfect weather (first week of April) We walked for one hour to the Mt. Went swimming in the hot springs pool and the next day took a water aerobics class there. All 4 of us enjoyed the pool. We loved walking on the boardwalks and on the sand by the ocean. One day many were swimming, the second day was cooler and ocean waves pretty high so not much swimming. We loved eating at the restaurant "Salinity" food was great and view of all the yachts was fun. We cooked some of our own meals and our host provided a lot of cooking extras. We had Copenhagen ice cream= a real treat across from the pool. We shopped at the Harley Davidson Store, the Knife store and New World and Woolworths groceries. We had a relaxing 3 nights and two fun filled days.

If you want to have a quite holiday exploring Tauranga go there in the off season say June to september .otherwise the summer is great but very busy . Tauranga city was surprising quite and has many easy to get to walking areas . No real sign of homeless people that the larger cities have .

Mount Maunganui absolutely wonderful spot for relaxation and / or beach swimming / surfing / fishing / biking / walking , it has it all ! Lovely eateries everywhere too and friendly locals ; you'll not regret the experience.

Traffic lights at the roundabouts that’s something we don’t see everyday. Chilled town and friendly people , I’m guessing it’s alot busier over summer . Fernland spas , relaxing , affordable, refreshing spas. Make that a must do while you are in town.
