My Review of Ranna Beach House, Sri Lanka We were lucky enough to spend a few days at Ranna Beach House, and it truly felt like a slice of paradise. 🏡 Location & Accommodation The house is located directly on a secluded, palm-lined beach – quiet, peaceful, and simply stunning. The sound of the ocean, the sunsets, and the feeling of privacy made it a perfect retreat. The villa itself is tastefully decorated, very clean, and well-equipped. We especially loved the spacious terrace and the private pool overlooking the sea. 👨‍🍳 Staff & Service One of the true highlights was the warm and attentive house staff. The chef prepared delicious, fresh meals every day – tailored to our preferences ( child-friendly, mild spice). What truly stood out was how patiently and kindly they responded to all our wishes – nothing was ever too much. Whether it was adjusting meals, helping with laundry, or arranging excursions, they handled everything with care and calmness. 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Perfect for Families We traveled with three children and felt completely at home. The pool was clean and safe, there was plenty of space to play and relax, and the beach was perfect for exploring and watching the fishermen. The kids especially loved the animals nearby and the quiet natural setting. 🌴 Surroundings & Activities From the house, we took some wonderful excursions – to a lagoon, a turtle beach, and even a safari. The driver recommended by the house was reliable, friendly, and very knowledgeable about the area. 💬 Our Conclusion Ranna Beach House is a perfect place to slow down, reconnect with nature, and enjoy true hospitality. If you’re looking for peace, beauty, and personalized care, this is the place. We would mabsolutely return – a strong recommendation!

Shine Wave Turtle Beach consisted of four large guest rooms, each with a terrace or balcony looking out on a secluded garden full of coconut trees. Construction of another building on site was nearing completion; it will be a bar and restaurant, I think. Rekawa Beach is only a 200-metre walk away, though it can be accessed from other directions too. There are several restaurants only a short walk or tuk tuk drive from Shine Wave. Two of the best were within touching distance. Of the five places we stayed in Sri Lanka, our room at Shine Wave was the largest and most comfortable. It included a massive bed, a fridge, air conditioning, an effective ceiling fan and a huge, attractive bathroom with a terrific HOT power shower and plenty of space for our toiletries. On our balcony, there were two comfortable chairs and a coffee table. Also, there was a small dining table and chairs where Chattu, our very accommodating guesthouse owner, served us a delicious and varied breakfast each morning. We loved having a private breakfast while watching peacocks and other birds flit about the garden. After travelling around the country and going on tours, this accommodation was the perfect way to finish our holiday on a relaxing note.

Perfect place! Like heaven on earth :) nice sandy beach! Very quite place! They have only 5 rooms so you always have your privacy: lot of free sunbeds at the beach, also at the pool. Staff is always ready to help you! Very delicious food! Everything is clean and well kept! Nice atmosphere! We even extended our stay for 2 more days! ☀️ Each room has terrace or balcony in front of your room! We will definetely come back! 💛

An utterly beautiful, serene place to enjoy peace and quiet. The villa was super clean and comfortable, the restaurant provided delicious meals and the staff and hosts couldn’t have been more friendly and helpful. The location was on a long stretch of idyllic golden sandy beach with no one around. The pool area perfect. If you’re looking for tranquility and quality, look no further.

Staff is really attentive and helpful. This makes for a really stress free vacation as we did not have to worry about a thing. Food was delicious and always prepared fresh. Beach was as epic as it gets, long and wide sandy strip. Pool was well taken care of and loungers were plenty to be found in shade and in sun. Rooms, although simple, were comfortable and cleaned daily. Location is good, quiet and relaxing.

We really enjoyed our 3 nights stay, resort is very nice place with beautiful garden and houses. The rooms are very spacious and comfortable. It is close to the turtles visitors center and beach. They helped us arrange a scooter rental.

Beautiful setting a few minutes walk from one of many local lagoons with diverse bird life. It is only 2 rooms, one downstairs and one upstairs, so it's great for a calm and private experience. That said Don and Mala were very responsive and helpful. They even let us use the kitchen at the back of the property to cook prawns bought at Tangalle fish market. Very clean and comfortable stay. Thank you!

The people from the hotel are amazing. They treated us really well, arranged a trip to the lake, showed the harbor at night, and prepared really nice meals. We really recomend this cosy hotel.
