Of course it‘s an older motel, but in good condition. If you get any of the waterfront units, that‘s where this property really shines! Also the price is very attractive.

This is one of the most friendliest hotel I have ever stayed in. The staff is extremely nice! We stayed in two connected rooms. Very good cooked breakfast delivered to the room. The rooms are big and the bathrooms are big. There is kitchen equipment available in the room. The beach is on the other side of the road (probably 50 meters walk). The restaurant is in the town, a few minutes nice walk. The internet WiFi connection is super fast with a good coverage. The hotel was well located for us as we wanted to visit Shakspear Park. It is just about one hour drive from Auckland. Have I told that the staff is extremely friendly, nice and just wonderful? After checkout we were offered towels to enjoy beach longer. We gave the towels back to the hotel in the afternoon long after checkout. Thank you, that helped us a lot.

We had a very warm welcome from Vicky, our host. She gave us good advice on places to eat in the area. The location is right across from the beach, a quiet family friendly place to have a splash. We had kayaks and a stand-up paddleboard to use. I can’t praise Vicky and Wayne enough for their hospitality.

Ian and Jing were amazing hosts but there appears to be no connection to phones while people are in the downstairs flat (so tricky to contact others to ask them to come up to the car to unpack it!!) The beach truly is on the doorstep which meant we sat on the picnic table in the public park enjoying the sunshine. Great spot and lovely hosts!

Hosts Dave and Linley are super-nice people - they think of everything to make sure your stay is as good as it can be. The location is wonderful, right by the beach, so you can fall asleep listening to the waves. The bed was amazingly comfortable; haven’t slept so well in a long time!
