Embassy house is a very unique place! The host Rafael is extraordinarily kind and helpful. He has a dog named Fidel and a "fat", orange cat named Trump. Both are very cute! The house is full of books, chessboards and other cultural assets, which formed a base for intriguing conversations. The house is located at the very edge of the village. It has a beatiful garden with a terrace on which we enjoyed a delicious breakfast. Overall the place has -in the most positive way- a certain "movie-like" feel to it. My girlfriend and I, having planned to go directly from San José to Corcovado national park by bus, our stay in Puerto Jimenez was originally a necessary measure, since there was no connecting bus at the same day we arrived. We ended up enjoying every minute of our stay and Rafael even provided some information about the animal species to be observed in the national park. Overall, I can totally recommend staying at Embassy House and would love to come back any time soon!

I was lucky enough to be one of the first guests at El Cerrito and I had the most amazing time there. Lis and Dan were so welcoming and the cabin was really comfortable and peaceful, exactly what I was looking for. I saw all kinds of wildlife there - monkeys, tucans, macaws, iguanas, frogs, humming birds, butterflies and sloths. It really felt like being in the jungle but with all the comforts of home. I was originally planning on doing a tour in Corcovado but I ended up doing a tour here with local guides instead and I'm so happy that I did. I got to see so many animals at a fraction of the price of what I would have paid at Corcovado. I will definitely be coming back here again in the future!

Loubnan is such a lovely host and did everything to make us happy. There is a big community area with a kitchen and a fridge. Perfect to stay a few days and explore the beautiful Osa Peninsula.

Such an amazing place, clean, tidy and well kept, surrounded by intense spectacular jungle and wildlife. The most beautiful river a few hundred feet away from the property is perfect for cooling off in and enjoying a revitalising start to the day. There are so many places to see in the surrounding area, with a choice of walks that can test and experienced hiker or let you take in the breathtaking surroundings at a mellow pace. The rooms are super clean and allow you to feel surrounded by the jungle yet give you large, uncluttered and clean personal space. I was made to feel so welcome by the staff and volunteers. The two owners were so interesting, genuine and kind, they really care about your experience, Both of them were so helpful and arranged trips and excursions from Dos Bravos (the town) as well as imparting their experiences of places in the country. Honestly I'm still blown away by my time at Templo Del Tigre, the rich jungle, sunny weather with the occasional tropical down pour, the wildlife, jungle sounds, gold miners and such a beautiful and relaxing place to stay and experience one of the most bio diverse places on the planet. Could not recommend this place more highly.

The best place we stayed in Costa Rica. Dario and Frederica have set up something special here in Dos Brazos, near the Corcovado National Park. Set in the heart of the jungle, in a lovely small Gold Mining village this beautiful guest house is a fantastic place to stay. Great welcome, the most comfortable bed, shower and space of our trip so far. A lovely fresh breakfast, great self catering facilities (but Frederica is a chef and will cook your dinner). Watching the jungle birds from their deck was a true joy. They went out of their way to book us a guide for a day exploring the jungle - a shout out to Jose who was a brilliant tour guide to the jungle. He grew up in the village, was fantastically knowledgeable about animals, history and Costa Rican life. Speaking excellent English. He is also a great artist - get him to show you the furniture he makes. Dos Brazos is also worth a mention such a lovely little village, the residents there welcomed guests so warmly, everyone we met had a smile and hola. Try the homemade ice creams advertised from small house! Perfect treat after a hot walk. La Casita means little house, but this is a little house with a big heart thanks to Dario and Frederica’s love and attention to detail. Total eco seclusion in prime rainforest… dont expect all mod cons but this place is a gem in a great wildlife location. Suzanna and Channi are just the best hosts. I will be back to find that Black-cheeked Ant Tanager one day soon 😊👍

Absolutely loved it here! As soon as I arrived I was greeted with big smiles and kindness from the staff. They are relaxed, helpful, fun and just really good people. Room was great! Bed comfy. I loved how the hotel had different zones so you can either be social or find a quiet area to chill. Shared kitchen was super clean, spacious and very well organized. Lots of surfboards for rent. Beach about 50m away, a few cafes / restaurants close, as well as the mini market store. 100% will be back! Hopefully sooner rather than later. Thanks for a great time Hotel Swell....
