We spent 1 night at the Lodge & the room was spacious, hosts very friendly & welcoming. The highlight was our afternoon safari (organised through Kuma). Our driver, of which I can't recall his name, was one of the most professional & knowledgeable drivers we have ever had on a Sri Lankan safari. We stopped when he spotted a bird, reptile, mammal & explained a little bit about each animal. It was a thoroughly memorable afternoon. We were lucky to see many elephants, even a baby elephant, crocodiles, monkeys, spotted deer, different bird species including hornbills, kingfishers, bee eaters, 3 of the 5 eagles, an Eurasian hooper, pair of Asian paradise flycatchers, peacocks. A perfect place to watch the wildlife roam by on the deck. The family is so generous and caring, they organised a safari for me in the park, when I ran out of cash took me by scooter to the atm, and they organised transfers for me from Ella and afterwards towards the beach. The bed was comfy, the food absolutely delicious. I can't recommend this place enough!

The host was incredibly thoughtful! Not only did he help arrange tickets, accommodation, and transportation, but he also took us to hidden spots to see wildlife and shared a wonderful dinner with us. The room was very new and the hot water was excellent—more than enough!

Our stay at Udawalawe Elephant Safari Lodge was absolutely amazing. We arrived at night and were warmly welcomed with a refreshing drink and a clear plan for the next day. Suru, our host, was incredibly helpful and even carried our bags into the room for us. The rooms are simple but very comfortable—perfect for a short night’s rest before heading out on safari in the morning. At 6 a.m., we started the day with a hot cup of coffee/tea before setting off. Suru’s off-road safari vehicle was very comfortable, and it only took a short drive to reach the entrance of the national park. The safari itself was smooth and unforgettable—we spotted over 10 different species of animals, including three families of elephants! Suru made sure we felt safe the whole time and even took some wonderful photos of us to remember the trip. Back at the lodge, we ended our stay with a refreshing dip in the pool and a truly delicious homemade breakfast (10/10—absolutely to die for!). All in all, I can highly recommend staying at this lodge when visiting Udawalawe National Park. The location is ideal, and the warm hospitality made our visit extra special.

We had a truly unforgettable stay, thanks to the breathtaking Mango Safari Camping and the outstanding dedication of the team. We spent one night at the charming and peaceful campsite and were warmly welcomed. We went to the Elephant Transit Home which was an unforgettable moment in our life where many baby elephants are bottle-fed by humans. The actions and demonstrations done by baby elephants were amazing and somewhat similar to human babies, which was funny to see. We were treated to a traditional Sri Lankan dinner by the bonfire – the food was very delicious. In the morning, we enjoyed a jeep safari in the Udawalawe National Park, we could see ample of elephants feeding on grass, deer, water buffalo, and birdlife of the area and the scenery was simply stunning.

We stayed at Rustic Cottages to visit the Udawalawe National Park. Sandeep at Rustic Cottages helped us arrange everything - driver, lunch and park tickets - including picking up our friends at another hotel on the way. The rooms were super nice and fresh - nothing to complain about. Sandeep also helped us with a driver on the day of departure and offered his service via text throughout our stay in Sri Lanka - just fantastic!
