Freddy is the nicest host you could have. He speaks English very well and it was so nice to really get to know someone here. He helped us with anything we needed and he and his wife are so kind and welcoming. I truly felt at home and I will come back if I can! Also Volcán is really pretty and quiet and the people there are more welcoming of tourists than in other cities we experienced (David/Panama City) and even though most people don’t really know English here with the help of Freddy and the basics in Spanish you’ll be just fine.

The owners Daniel and Andrea make this beautiful tranquil place with amazing views a home from home. They are the most amazing and hospitable couple, they cannot do enough to help and advise you. The accommodation is so spacious and super clean, big bathroom, big veranda and spacious bedroom. So many wonderful plants and birds to admire. Breakfast on their beautiful veranda is a fantastic way to start the day, great porridge and eggs and fruits, with advice on your plans for the day and dinner suggestions. Amazing views too. You are a short drive from Boquete but away from the huddle and bustle, the best of both worlds! Thank you for a wonderful stay it was such a pleasure to meet you both.

Everything about the place was excellent. Dora and Herman were friendly and attentive to all our needs. The room was comfortable and facilities everything we could require. The garden though is a masterpiece, we spent many an hour just sitting and watching the flowers and wildlife that visited.

It has been an amazing stay at Gaia Lodge. I loved the little stream that pass at the end of the garden, and the kitchen which more looks like a family one than an hostel one (very well furnished, super clean): it was a pleasure to cook here as at home! The location is perfect, as walking distance from the center where you can catch the bus, shop, take the tours... Very easy to dry the clothes also. Overall it has been a very confortable stay, and despite not the usual backback hostel style (families, oldest people...) it was easy to exchange while cooking or eating at the table overlooking the garden.
