But what sets Zartonq apart is the following: when we casually mentioned to the hosts we weren’t able to buy delicious herbal tea from Tatev region, the next day they had procured it for us. The place is in an idillic rural location in the village of Tatev, in walking distance of the well known monastery. Our room was really nice, spottlessly clean and with an amazing view directly on the mountains. The included breakfast was fresh, tasty and abundant, just like the dinner we enjoyed extra the evening before. The owners are really friendly and welcoming. It was a perfect stay for us!

Ana-Maria and her husband are extremely welcoming. Their place is simple, very clean, with beautiful views of the mountains. Ana Maria is a great cook, she prepared a wonderful armenian meal for us. She even speaks some Spanish so we could communicate, but she made a great effort to be able to be understood. Their place is 10 minutes walk from the amazing monastery of Tatev and Wings of Tatev station. Recommended if you are looking for a true Armenian experience.
