A warm welcome awaited us and our small dog, 'Nina' from Robert. He could not have been more helpful. The host has thought of everything, a lovely, clean, cosy, warm, and well equipped self-contained unit. It was very quiet and totally private. Having the garden to use was such a bonus. The hosts are very friendly, kind and helpful. We even got treated to some home made pie upon checking out. There is a fireplace in the living room with everything you need to start it. Also there's everything you need in the kitchen to prepare and store food, a lot of kitchen utensils, pans, pots, knives, etc. We were here for the F1 SPA GP and it was a perfect choice.

We arrived at La Belle Maison by E-Bike and were greeted by the gracious host Dieter and his lovely wife. Dieter made sure our 2 Ebikes were stored in the garage and charged with electricity, after that we were offered a champagne and given a tour of the house. The property consists of a superbly restored farmhouse with parts of it that date back to the 15th century. Our room was beautiful and spacious with a very comfortable bed, we even had a stair that lead to an attic with couch and rocking chair, but we were so busy doing bike tours every day in the area that we didn’t use the upstairs space very often. That was also not needed since we were made to feel welcome in all the ground floor areas of the farmhouse. The view from the room was so nice, every morning we could see all the cars stopped in the road because a herd of cows had to cross from one field to the next, which was a very idyllic and picturesque view to wake up to. The breakfast was superb and very extensive with charcuterie plate and freshly baked croissants, yoghurt and scrambled eggs. We even got fresh apple juice from the farm. The best thing about La Belle Maison is the warm feeling we got all the time, like we were part of the family, after returning home from our bike rides through the fields and hills, having a glass of wine in front of the warm fireplace was the best after a long day. The countryside around La Belle Maison is so beautiful, with nature and fields and forests. The town centre is a 4 minute walk away with a nice restaurant right next to the church for lunch and dinner. We will certainly return to the valley of the Geul river and La Belle Maison to be cherished by Dieter and his wife once more. Very nice looking and spacious "loft" in an older house, completely refurbished. Sleeps 4 perfectly, those sleep in the upper part of the loft - very comfy beds. We are a family with 5 adults, and one of us slept on the couch-converted-to-bed - as she is 1m80 (none of us are shorter) she had to sleep diagonally as the bed is shortish: that went fine, but with a 6th tall person it would be a bit of a problem (2 kids or not-too-tall people can easily sleep on the couch-bed). The kitchen is huge and has a very nice cooking "station" in the middle. The amount of storage is equally huge, and we certainly haven't used all of it but it seemed quite complete. A nice touch was that the nespresso machine came with 5 or so cups of the "De Koffiejongens" brand, which is "biological" coffee with a fair trade intent (not branded as such) - and tastes better than most types of nestle cups I ever had (I am a manual beans-to-espresso&cappuccino buff myself, so when I say that the coffee from a nespresso machine is pretty decent, that's a big compliment). Bring some extra cups if you like more coffee. There's also a milk frother! The house is sitting on a road that's very quiet at night, and the surrounding views are very nice, especially from the shared terrace with tables, chairs and barbie outside. Last but certainly not least: though we did not meet our hosts in person, they gave plenty of information beforehand, and reacted very quickly to the few messages we sent - and that in the most helpful and friendly manner!

The accommodation is located against the border of Germany in Belgium in a former border post building. ideal base for day trips to Aachen, the northern Ardennes and the Eifel. the apartment consists of a corridor with a toilet and a former office with a high ceiling in which the space is divided into a lower part with a sofa, kitchenette, dining table and bathroom, and an upper part with a double bed. We were welcomed by a hospitable and helpful host who gave us an extensive tour with explanations and gave us tips on attractions in the area. A special mention: MANNEKENFrit, the mini restaurant (no, not a snack bar) where they serve excellent chips and hamburgers. Not cheap, but very good quality, and at 30 seconds walking distance from the apartment.

    The accommodation was spacious, very clean. It is very well equipped. The location is beautiful with stunning views. The quiet is a pleasant change from the city. If you enjoy nature and exploring the countryside, this place is perfect. With car you have the bonus of being near charming small towns and villages. We went to Leuven for the day, it was lovely and is well the hours drive there. To come back to Gites des etangs a Montzen was wonderful. Thank you to our host.
