Lukas the manager / owner was personable, a great chef, very artistic with good taste. He has a little studio stocked with home made chocolates, biscuits and hard bread. The breakfast had home made / regionally sourced ingredients of the highest quality The rooms had a contemporary, clean look and were comfortable. I enjoyed the little sitting room that was bright and cheery. Staff were helpful and friendly. Very convenient location ~100m from the train station but one doesn't hear the train with the windows shut.

An amazing host Lise - a very helpful, knowlegable and friendly person with who I had a very intersting conversation. I would honestly recomend this BnB to anyone. Such a lovely athmosphere built by Lise. I can’t wait to find some time and go back :) A wonderful breakfast served by Lise with a super cheap price. Amazing, tasty, fresh and healthy. The apartment has 4 bedrooms, spacious living room, fully equipped kitchen and immediately opposite SPAR shop in the centre of the beautiful village of Gais. Gais is centrally located on the charming Appelzen Railway with regular trains every 30 minutes down to historic regional capital St Gallen, over the mountain to Altstatten, and also towards Appelzen itself, one of the prettiest villages in Switzerland. All the East Switzerland peaks and cable cars - including Mount Santis can be reached from Gais within 20-40 minutes by train and post bus. Our favourite is Hohen Kasten from which there are sweeping views over the mountain range and Bodensee (Lake Constance) and Liechtenstein. In the village there is a beautiful church opposite on the other side and a pizzeria (which also does oriental food at - for Switzerlnad - reasonable prices), and there are many walks in the surrounding area. BEST OF ALL - this is one of the few reasonably priced accommodations which offers the OSKAR Card. For approx £15 per day (half for children), you get access to practically all public transport in East Switzerland - trains, trams, buses, boats on Bodensee AND Cable Cars - Santis Cable Car alone costs £50 return normally ! Bonus is the friendly owner Vreni who takes pride in the property, and also her friend at the upstairs flat who is very helpful and speaks French and a lot of English as well as Deutsch.

I recently stayed at this apartment and had an exceptional experience. The place is incredibly clean, and despite the shared bathrooms, there are enough of them, and they are often cleaner than those in hotels. The host is extremely friendly and courteous, always willing to assist. The kitchen is well-equipped, offering everything you need to prepare meals. The apartment is very quiet, and the guests are friendlier than in many hotels I’ve visited. The parking is secure and conveniently located right in front of the property. The rooms are bright, very clean, and tidy, providing a comfortable and pleasant stay. I highly recommend this apartment to anyone looking for a peaceful, clean, and comfortable accommodation with a wonderful host.
