What a lovely place to stay when visiting Hadrian's Wall! We had a beautiful view overlooking the river and bridge. The room was large and comfortable. Brian, the owner, was very kind and generous with his time and allowed us to use the laundry facilities knowing that we'd been traveling for weeks. He's a fun and interesting conversationalist as well! We had a great time and would definitely stay here again!

The location was perfect for our plan to explore Hadrian’s wall. Our hosts were knowledgeable about the location and amenities and helped us secure dinner reservations as well as giving us directions to the local interesting locations.     A large and well appointed bedroom and a hearty breakfast. Conveniently located in the centre of the village with dining options nearby. Shaftoes made a perfect one night stop over on our tour of Northumberland. Our host Lois offered us a welcome tea and biscuits on arrival

    We stayed for two nights. Lovely host, very hospitable and relaxed environment, beautiful peaceful village within striking distance of Hadrian's Wall. Quiet and very clean and tidy and wonderful choice for breakfast. Would definitely recommend and return here.
