The hospitality of the owner made us feel home indeed. Even though our stay was short (couple of nights only), it was superb and I wish we’d stayed longer. The views from the pool and breakfast areas are amazing, each apartment has a jacuzzi to enjoy, overall, a lot of activities to spend time on the property itself. We’d love to come back again! This was a well equipped apartment and a good base to visit the island. We visited off season and the host was very helpful, with great communication and agreeing to our request for a later check out. We were unfortunate with the weather during our visit, so we were very grateful for a comfortable place to stay!

This is a pure gem! Spacious, clean, comfortable and so tastefully decorated space! Differently from other rented places in Veli Rat Amarcord Skola provides outside shade casted by the trees rather than parasols. It has a generous decking space which I used for afternoon yoga. You can sit outside in a lovely shade hearing the gently rocking boats on the other side of the road. You also do not need to go all the way to any beach but instead dip into the water just across the road too! There is an outside shower to rinse off which is very refreshing! I stayed at Amarcord Skola for 5 nights, loved it and would like to come back. It is accessible by a ferry and a bus (yes, there is a bus!). You take a ferry from Zadar to Brbijn and from there you will have an option to take 201 bus operated by Liburnija (liburnija-zadar.hr). The bus leaving time is synced with the arrival time of the ferry which is very convenient. You can return the same way. This saves you going to Bozava (which is only 6km away from Veli Rat), but is not serviced by the bus that well as Brbijn. At the Amarcord Skola you can have breakfast at an additional cost or get something in the morning from a near by shop (yes, there is a small village shop 2 mins away on foot). Although not extensive, but you have options for dinner within the vicinity too. I didn't have any means of transportation and felt the distances to the nearby beaches were walkable. I preferred a bit of slow down pace, the sounds and the smells of the nature while walking at the countryside. The place and the village are very peaceful, not overcrowded.

Absolutely exceptional accommodation for anyone looking for complete privacy. The house is very well equipped, it has everything you need. Super comfortable beds and only olive groves all around. It is about 5-10 minutes walk to the sea, clear water, beautiful swimming, possibility to buy snacks or make small purchases in the local shop.You can use the outdoor grill, shower, sun loungers, relax. Owner was helpful, advised when needed, communication without problems. We would be happy to return anytime.

    The location is very good - village on a hill with beautiful views of the sea and island, halfway between all island attractions. The hosts are super nice and helpful. The property is a bit rustic but it had everything we needed (kitchen, pool, bbq, kayak and bike rental) and more (restaurant service, sauna, jacuzzi).

    The setting is lovely, in a tiny hilltop village with beautiful views, and a good base to explore the rest of the island (you'll want a car). The hosts were charming, and we enjoyed the breakfast (an optional add-on). Overall it was good, and we would stay here again.

    It was very accessible from the ferry at Brbinj. The property had a nice ambience of a family villa. The hosts were so warm and welcoming!

    The house was beautiful, with a cosy rustic decor. It was really well equiped with everything we could need, from appliences, watter, condiments, tea etc. We especially appreciated the coffee❤️. We loved the quiet village where we could hear the birds, crickets and bees,far from a noisy city or traffic. The yard was full of fragrant flowers that perfumed even our rooms. We are thankfull for the posibility of late check-in and appreciate that someone came to guide us to the house.
