This is by far one of the best hostels I’ve ever had the luck to be in. The equipment and in particular the showers is incredibly good for a hostel, more a hotel standard. The atmosphere is nevertheless really communicative and open. If you like you can meet new people there easily. The whole team and especially the front manager were super kind and helpful with all belongs (transport, information, tours, etc.). The food is really nice and the prices adequate (try the chicken 65 - I had it several times). The view is phenomenal and the location quiet. It takes you 20-30 min by bus to Munnar but I actually liked to be a bit outside of the town (which is not that beautiful). All in all if you’ve got the chance to stay in K Mansion while you’re in this part of the world, do it.

Our stay at Silvy’s place was very special. Her house is beautiful, with stunning views of the tea plantations and is in a very quiet area near the bus stop. The family is very nice and made us feel at home. They are very interested in other cultures and love to show their way of living as well. We took cooking classes with Silvy and learned how to make the best fish curry and the best Porrotha in India. It was exquisite! We also went on a trek with Babu and had a tour with Silvy through the tea plantations. Both were a lot of fun and I highly recommend them. Silvy’s food is the best in Kerala. Her pineapple juice is the best we’ve tried (a must!!), her pancakes in the morning, her pizza, her mushroom masala, and her biriyani. We loved everything because it is made with a lot of love. Every meal Silvy prepared was a masterpiece. The fresh ingredients and aromatic spices made each dish unforgettable. The room is good and comfortable, it has everything you need. It has hot water and excellent wifi. The room was tastefully decorated and had a very comfortable bed. We really appreciated the little details like the availability of tea and coffee in the room. They also offer laundry service and the clothes come back smelling wonderful. Silvy and her family went out of their way to make sure we had a perfect stay, from providing useful information about the area to offering tips on the best places to visit. I would highly recommend taking some days to simply relax at the house and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. Hopefully we can also go back soon!! ❤️❤️

Everything was great ! Bony is a really good host, he was really kind and helpfull, he drove us around to sea viewpoints, waterfalls and even elephants ! We had a fantastic 3 nights stay at Thoppil. Very beautiful surroundings with waterfall and swimming possibilities, clean and cozy room and absolutely delicious homemade Kerala food. It is easy to go to Munnar by local bus, car or tuk tuk. The owners are so friendly and gave us a lot of tips on where to go and what to do. They helped us book a half day hike with a guide in the tea plantations, which was very beautiful and memorable. We highly recommend to stay at Thoppil homestay!
