This is a great size for an apartment and made a change from the usual Icelandic accommodation. The furnishings and decor have gone full circle from 'old' to 'funky retro' but everything is clean and working. Although this is away from the main village (due to the avalanche in the 1990s) there is a fantastic park just behind the apartment block. And it is only a short drive to Ísafjorður (Tjörhúsið is a must for every visitor to the West Fjords)

Nice, spacious house with good amenities. The living room and the kitchen are fine, a dining area, too. Rooms are small, but fine for only sleeping.

This extraordinary apartment is a hit! Central location, parking lot at the house, everything clean, imaginative and lovingly designed in a historic building, cosy! The kitchen is well equipped, also with everyday necessities ... exceptional: A special drawer with all conceivable spices! You will find various wines and soft drinks (white wine and rosé well chilled!) - the wines at pleasant prices and the soft drinks for free! It was a special pleasure to meet Gisli, the owner: such a warm and lovable man! He personally guided us through the house, the original domicile of his ancestors, and had a lot of interesting things to tell...everything here is exceptional! Note: There is a good bakery and cafe nearby. There is nothing negative to say! This was maybe the best accomodation on our two weeks trip to Iceland.

Just 100 metres from the Ísafjördur shore in the Westfjords, this guest house offers 2 TV lounges and rooms with views of Skutulsfjördur. Wi-Fi and parking are free.

The check in has been easy and quick, we were given more time upon check out with no problem. The room was small but lovely and cozy :) You definitely have at your disposal all you need for a one night stay :)

A good location for a stress-free holiday in Ísafjörður, Guesthouse Gamla is a guest house surrounded by views of the garden.

Very beautiful house, old but very nice and comfortable. Enough WC and baths, breakfast also was very good, with a view from the restaurant.

Due to some harsh weather conditions we almost canceled our stay there but fortunately we didn’t. It was a really nice stay there. The apartment is well equipped. In the kitchen is almost everything you need, the only thing we missed was some salt which would have been a nice addition as we haven’t bought any, because of the availability in all the other apartments. But this was the only minor thing you could complain about at this beautiful apartment. The Host was extremely nice, as the weather conditions got even worse over the night and all the roads where closed in the morning she offered us to check out later or even stay an additional night. Thanks a lot to the host, but luckily we didn’t need to use the offer as we were fortunate enough that the one road we needed to get to the next apartment was opened again. Now to the best part of the apartment: the bathroom. The bathroom just feels luxurious. All marble stone, just exquisite and extremely clean. The interior is quite nice designed and nice artistically set up. Definitely worth staying there.

Very friendly service. We were there for the race weekend of Fossavatnsgangan 2024 and the hosts even put a breakfast package for us to the fridge. They also immediately helped when our car got stuck in snow. Just wonderful kind, gracious and helpful people!

The owner was very nice, he made as very good breakfast. He asked us when we want to eat in the morning. We were the only guests in the house. Room was warm, everything was nice and clean. Even though the house is old and like a museum it is very well taken care of.

The Old Bookstore is situated in Flateyri and offers a shared lounge. The property has sea and mountain views.
