The owner was kind enough to drive me to the station in the pouring rain, and after to the Onsen. The room was very clean, and exceptionally nice, especially for this price. The town was a sudden cute find as well, so while it's a bit off track with an infrequent train line, it was definitely worth it.

Bessho Onsen is a magic place just outside Ueda, full of lovely temples and hot springs. This Ryokan fully embraces the vibe of this little village and offers good facilities in an amazing surroundings. The hotel is pretty old, which gives it a nostalgic feeling. But it is perfectly kept and with all the amenities you should wish for. A lovely room, amazing gardens, very good indoor and outdoor hot springs and a very very good restaurant. We had the best breakfast of our entire trip there! Last but not least the staff is absolutely lovely.

Housed in a historic building, the recently renovated Mitsubikiya features accommodation with a garden and free WiFi. The air-conditioned accommodation is 800 metres from Matsumoto Station.

The food was fantastic. The room charming and cozy. We immediately felt at home in the best way possible, the owner is very obliging and a tremendous chef. This place alone is worth the trip to Matsumoto!

My friend and I really enjoyed our time here. It’s an incredibly cute guesthouse with a great vibe. The shared kitchen is well-equipped with plenty of utensils to use and enough space to enjoy a cozy meal. There’s even a kotatsu! We also messaged them after booking to ask whether the room was mixed or female-only, as we were a bit concerned. We received a very quick response reassuring us that there was no need to worry and that a female-only room would be prepared for us. The owner is super friendly, and her positive energy is contagious. :) Since it’s located in an onsen town, there are plenty of opportunities to relax after a day of exploring. Thank you for the wonderful time!

It was the BEST accommodation in Matsumoto. Everything, from check-in to facilities, cleanliness, comfort, and heating (as it was winter), was absolutely perfect with no flaws. Additionally, it is conveniently located at a reasonable distance from Matsumoto Station, and just a short walk takes you to Aeon Mall and the main street. The river view from the balcony is cool.

Great facilities, everything new, modern and spotlessly clean. Huge wooden bunk beds in the dorms which are much more spacious than the usual hostel dorm beds. Perfect location on a main shopping street. Helpful, friendly staff and a nice common room to meet other guests. I've stayed in a lot of hostels and this is was perhaps my favourite ever in terms of comfort.
