The owner of the guesthouse, Mr. Namba, is very friendly. He knows a lot about Shimane, where to go, best way to get there, how much it costs as well as how long it will take. His English is also very good. He is easy to communicate with. The rooms are spacious and open. Although you in a city, it feels like a countryside villa. There is a small Japanese style garden in the back. The location is convenient. It's close to many restaurants. However, I would advise making reservations at the restaurants.

Excellent tatami room in a guesthouse in Matsue. It is close to Matsue Castle and well connected to other areas, including Matsue Station, by bus. There are some great restaurants about 10 minutes’ walk away and a nice bakery close by for breakfast. Emi-san is an exceptional host who is very welcoming and gives great advice to help you enjoy your stay. I would absolutely recommend.

This is the 2nd time staying at COCORETO. A place that worths revisiting tells everything. Mackey is welcoming & helpful as usual and he checks everything for us before staying. Emi was the most thorough, kind, helpful host we have had in all our travels. The experience in the house is understated in booking. We were surprised to find out that it is an authentic Japanese house. Emi helped us with restaurant information, commute information, calling a taxi, earlier than normal breakfast when we had to leave.

The staff were very helpful and pleasant, the food was among the best food we had on our entire japan trip. We traveled with one vegetarian and they were able to make great vegetarian food as well which we really appreciated! The inn was cozy and well managed and we had everything we needed. The location by the river and so close to Matsue Castle was also amazing. We can recommend this inn and Matsue city to everyone interested in seeing a different japan!

    A real discovery: Mihonoseki is a special place, a fishermen's village away from everything and still quite convenient to reach. I stayed at one of the Fukumakan annex houses. A beautiful old Japanese house, perfectly maintained with all conforts one might need. Lovely views of the port from the first floor. Breakfast and dinner are also a special treat in Japanese fish cuisine. Highly recommended
