We loved the beautiful tea and meditation room overlooking the garden. The smart bath offered full of joy and bathroom along with every type of towel and toiletry you could need. There was even a bicycle available, though only one, so not very useful for two. The owner provided all the necessary information and entry codes in advance, making check-in smooth and stress-free.

The location is beautiful and quiet, and the hostel is always clean. The owner is really friendly and kind too, I would recommend being able to speak some Japanese so that you can get to know him. My suitcase wheels broke on the way to the hostel so I had to carry my suitcase all the way from the station. When I arrived drenched in sweat he said I should have called him and he would have picked me up; the very next day he drove me to a 2nd hand store to buy a new one.

There is everything that is needed for the minimum of living. Quiet place so cannot be bothered by the noise. Owner is also a really good person. I did like my stay there! I recommend!

First of all: This is not an apartment, but rather a mini-mansion. Far bigger than we expected! Also - super stylish and "retro", full of old, beautiful furniture and filled with various nooks and crannies. On top of all of that, it is super well equipped and everything works perfectly. Location couldn't be better, right between Nara train station and the famous Nara deer park. We were very lucky and grateful to find this superb apartment.

Our stay at the Houtouji temple was one of the highlights of our trip! The loving family made our stay very special. They went out of their way to pick us up from the train station, prepared delicious (vegetarian!) dinner and breakfast, and taught us more about buddhism. We could even attend the afternoon (16:00) and morning (6.00) ceremonies. There is a beautiful view of the surrounding mountains and they have several animals (donkey, goats, cat) making it a lovely stay. We want to thank you very much for our stay and would highly recommend to anyone planning to go to Yoshino!
