Everything was superb and it was probably the best sunrise of our lives. That morning is absolutely among the top-ten travelling experiences together with for example, the Great Barrier reef, Rio de Janeiro, Kyoto, the Victoria Falls and sunset at Ao Prao beach at Koh Samet. The view from the balcony (and the bed) was spectacular. We sat on the balcony from 5.30 watching the sunrise over the mountains accompanied by the monks soft and humming morning prayers, truely magic. We then had a wonderful breakfast served at our balcony with the greatest of views. Thank you for being so welcoming and for taking so well care if us. Next time we will, for sure, stay for more than one night.

We were there as a family of four, the kids had a downstairs room, the parents an upstairs room. I loved to watch out if the window or sit on the balcony and just gaze into the georgeous greenery… amazing view. Shiraz the host was very caring, prepared and amazing breakfast, answered our very many questions patiently and organized all the drivers for us. It was a cozy home for three days and we loved it. From there we could easyly make all sorts of trips: hike up Ella‘s Rock, trip to an amazing waterfallpool, teafactory, monastery.

Staying at the monastery for two nights was absolutely the highlight of our 16-day trip to Sri Lanka. It’s just a 6-7 minute walk along the railway tracks from the train station, while the regular road takes about 20 minutes uphill. The location is very convenient for hiking to Little Adam’s Peak and Ella Rock. The Chief Monk welcomed us personally with tea and introduced the temple’s program. Every evening at 6:30, you can join chanting and meditation. The breakfast was very hearty, and during our stay, we spotted small fish, shrimp, birds, and squirrels. Every evening, we enjoyed dinner at the monastery under the night sky—it was an incredible experience not to be missed. We were even able to see fireflies at night! The monastery provides a drying rack, which was very convenient. I highly recommend this unique and unforgettable stay.

Very clean place, very clean bed (cleanest bed we had so far in Sri Lanka), beautiful view and balcony in front of every room. Bathroom with very hot water and window. Super nice host. Breakfast very tasty and variable. Located a bit on the hill, walk about 5-10 minutes to the centre, restaurants nearby, but also nature. Perfect location. Mr. Upali is very nice and perfectly organised. Thank you very much

It was the best stay during our trip to Sri Lanka so far. The room was clean, bed was comfy with a mosquito net. Coffee set in the room. Beautiful view from the terrace. It was like 10 min walk to the city center. Breakfast was so delicious and homemade! The host was really helpful and kind. We strongly recommend Duet Hearts!

lovely homestay. lovely family. So far I have stayed in total two weeks already, and I just extended my stay for another two weeks. that should be enough to show how much I love this place! anyways, it is very peaceful and private, but still central to the city Center(5-10 min walk). the house is surrounded by beautiful nature, and you can not see any of the neighbours houses while sitting outside. - even though all the neighbours are veeery nice! love it!:)
