James was one of the best hosts I have had on my trip so far. I booked last second as the weather took a turn for the worst and he was able to accommodate me. We had a lovely chat about the local area and after getting me all situated and comfy for my stay even recommended a few local spots to visit while I was in town. Definitely would recommend staying here if you are passing through.

+ amazing Gardens around the property. + Great hosts (thanks for the great evenings) + superb cooked Breakfast and we even got to enjoy amazing dinner + Close (15 min Drive) to next town = Stratford + Great starting point for hikes from Taranaki / Egmont National Park. Visitor Centre = 40 min drive Highly recommended to stay at TePopo Gardens instead of the towns around.

The house is from 1910 and has kept its charm. The rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable. The English gardens can be enjoyed in peace and quiet. Breakfast was delicious! Judith was very kind and helpful. Highly recommend staying here :)

The warmth and generosity of reception This is a seriously stylish property. The architecture and decor show real aplomb and Murray showed us his ASTONISHING cabinet carpentry. My goodnes: add on Catherine's breakfast, and the warmth of this couple. Easily the best place visited in the last couple of years.

They were able to accommodate us last minute and they do one night stays which is awesome. The kids get to see animals and wake up listening to native birds in the surrounding bush.

Amazing property with all amenities you could ask for. The cheese platter and dinner on the first night was a godsend, given it was Easter. Great location for exploring the national park. Would definitely recommended

Location is great for Egmont National Park and Mt Taranaki as well as the excellent Rotokare Scenic Reserve. The accommodation is terrific, the garden and pond amazing and the hosts outstanding.
