Beautiful place in the middle of nature. I wish we had stayed longer! Our cottage was beautiful, super comfortable and clean and it was so pleasant to fall asleep to the sounds of the waterfall nearby. When booked in advance, you can also have vegan meals here. They were all really good.

Roça Saudade is a place unlike anything we had experienced before. The gardens are beautifully lush. The view from the restaurant is unmatched, as it seems like you are inside the jungle. However, Roça Saudade is most known for it's exquisite food creations that combine local ingredients in a unique way. Dining becomes art.

Casa luis is a fantastic place to stay. During my time in Sao Tome I had my base there. The room is spacious and gets cleaned every day. Top notch. The daily breakfast is tasty and plenty. Staff is friendly and always smiley. Luis the owner is super welcoming and friendly. He speaks English , too. The outside area is a little paradise and it’s well maintained. Pool is super refreshing. Area is quiet and peaceful. The place is a 8 minute moto taxi ride away from the city and also just like 7-8 minutes away from the airport. It is also safe to walk around even in the night time. Never had any issues as a female solo traveller. Highly recommend.

Welfare Agroturismo was part of the São Tomé round trip I have made with my girlfriend. The hotel is small (5 rooms only) and quite remote, but surrounded by beautiful nature. It has a very beautiful garden full of flowers, vanilla, fruits… and there are several options for tours to explore the center of the island (visit of Monte Cafe and Jardim Botanico de Bom Sucesso; hike to Lagoa Amelia; or you just start a hike along the old paths directly from the agroturismo). The hosts are so lovely and great cooks. Especially the dinners were really great and diverse. I would definitely come back again!

it was very calm and clean. the staff were very friendly and happy to help when needed. we loved the decoration and furniture. we also enjoyed the breakfast.

We wanted nature and a beach option within walking distance. The shopping and dining options nearby were suitable for us with 3 km walk (one way). To drive into the city, it is about a 20-minute walk through the backland to the road where the yellow taxis drive at regular intervals. The way to the house is only for experienced off-road vehicle drivers and despite the polite warnings here, it exceeded our expectations :D Our recommendation: Request a pick-up service for arrival/departure and buy the first important things in the supermarket when you arrive. The rest can be obtained in the villages. Our room was spacious and had its own bathroom. There was a common area (lounge/couches/dining area) and a kitchen. All rooms were clean and well maintained. Cleaning staff came regularly. Everyone is very polite and accommodating. We felt richly gifted, as there are other beaches very close (only few steps through the hedge). In addition, there are fantastic shopping facilities (fruit/vegetables, beer, fresh fish) in Mikolo but also street restaurants to buy fresh fish, octopus, mussels. The fishing village of Mikolo is well known on the island. Since the designated restaurants on googlemaps only open after 6 p.m., they were not really an option for us. We did not find the footpaths in the dark desirable. Except for a few days we were alone in the accommodation. The house dog is very sweet and always hungry 😊 (I was shockingly in love and there was daily morning exercise together at sunrise). We highly recommend this accommodation for a longer stay. Portuguese/French are very welcome & helpful.

The House is very spacious and in a quiet gentle neighborhood ( 5 minutes by motorbike/car from the center). Everything was very clean, secure and there is a garden and seating area. Kitchen is fully equiped.

I had a very comfortable stay. The room had air conditioning, the hotel uses solar panels which is great especially with the occasional energy cuts in São Tomé, and breakfast was included. It’s only a 5-minute walk to the beach and the grocery store is about 100 meters away, which was very convenient.

Location right next to airport so very convenient for arrival. Common mini bus only costs 20 Dobras $1 so easy enough to get to town. Hosts are extremely nice and accommodating.

Charming little guesthouse in the village of monte café. Village life continues outside and the old coffee plantation structures are still clearly visible. If you are lucky and the clouds clear you have a really nice view on Sao Tomé and the sea. Do not forget to rake a coffee. The owner is really helpful to accommodate all your plans.
