Lovely place for a stay. I spent just one night but was perfect. The room was cozy and the mattress really comfortable, on the firm side (just what I needed). Shared bathrooms are absolutely clean. There is a community kitchen which I did not use but great to know I could have. Check-in was super easy and independent which I appreciated because I arrived very late at night.

We had an absolutely wonderful time at Emily’s house! The house is not only beautiful and very cozy, but also perfectly equipped with everything you could possibly need – and spotlessly clean. We also enjoyed sitting outside on the terrace and simply taking in the peaceful atmosphere. What truly makes Velvet Fern Guesthouse special is the thoughtful and loving attention to detail: everything was personally and carefully prepared for our arrival, including a lovely breakfast and bikes we could use – such a kind touch! Vera was super friendly and the bed was comfortable. Just what was needed after a long travel day. Lovely location right opposite the water. Breakfast was an added bonus. It was lovely chatting with Vera over breakfast, whilst also watching the hummingbirds outside the window.

the location was quiet and so relaxing. Love this house a lot. The first sight of the living area, followed by the kitchen was amazing. It was well decorated with the theme ‘Alice in the Wonderland’. Rabbits are everywhere. Kitchenware is well equipped. Bathroom is clean. Showers is good. The bed is soooo comfy. The owner really put in a lot of effort to keep this house filled with warmth.

Offering views of the Strait of Georgia and the mountains, this hotel features a seasonal outdoor pool and daily continental breakfast. Courtenay is 7 minutes' drive away.
