The breakfast was amazing. Lorena would make you whatever you wanted. Lots of food and everything was made to order. On our first day we were tired after a 10 hour delay, Lorena made sure that we had everything that we needed and even picked us up at the airport despite the delay.We decided to walk into town where there was a huge fish market, a mall and a casino. The location of Lorena's house is about a 30 minute walk to everything. The area is very safe and the people were very friendly. We planned to go out for dinner however when we returned to Lorena's house she had made us dinner. A wonderful Chilean meal. We ate together and Lorena and her son Max helped us to understand more about life in Chile. We felt so comfortable, drank some wine together and we honestly felt like part of the family. On day 2 we decided to go into Santiago. We took the bus which went directly from San Antonio to Santiago for $6 each one way. in the morning before we left Lorena made sure that we had a big breakfast. She then gave us excellent instructions on how to get around Santiago. She even gave us a pass for the subway. We had the most amazing day because of all of the information Lorena shared with us. In the morning of our cruise Lorena took us to the port. Lorena and her beautiful home is a place that you must stay if you are visiting San Antonio. I would also recommend doing what we did and stay in San Antonio if you are going on a cruise. Santiago is very accessible by bus so you may want to consider it as an option to staying in Santiago. I would also recommend arriving a few days before your cruise so that you can enjoy the area before the cruise.

Excellent coffee! Best of our trip. The owners speak Spanish, so they asked a friend of theirs who spoke English to come over, to enhance communication; our Spanish is limited. (At the end of our stay, they did ask for a tip for the friend, who came over in the morning also.) They arranged for pizza delivery for our dinner, and they also ordered pizza for themselves, the interpreter friend, and his girlfriend. We all sat on the patio and had dinner, wine, and conversation together - very pleasant evening. The two top bedrooms share a bathroom. We had booked one of the bedrooms, but since no one was staying in the other bedroom, they said we could also use it, so we could close off the end of the shared hallway to make a private suite that included the bathroom. This was very nice of them. We were boarding a cruise ship the next morning, and it is a 10 minute taxi ride to the port. It was a much more pleasant stay than it would have been to stay in a hotel in San Antonio. And the view of the bay was gorgeous.

We loved the view to the sea side from the room. We also enjoyed very much the friendliness of the staff. By far, the best was the mattress. Perfect bed to finish up each day and rest for the next one!
