Kasa was extremely comfortable, modern, and well-designed. Food portions were very generous, excellent wifi, and there was also free drinking water (instead of having to buy small bottles all the time). Ana helped with planning my hikes and organizing a guide. It's not too long a walk to Paul to catch the aluguers though it's important to keep in mind the island is huge and it takes time and money to get around. I regretted moving to another area b/c I really loved my stay here.

Location is flawless - on a quiet street, but just off the main road. Aluguars stop virtually opposite the property and are very frequent, both going up the Paul Valley and along the coastal road. There is a little mini market just around the corner, open until 20:00. The owner is super - helpful and able to advise on all the best walks in the area. He suggested a much better walk than the one we initially wanted to do; he had maps and suggested places to eat. The room was very comfortable, clean, and the balcony was a nice bonus. The kitchen area is really nice, half al-fresco. All the staff were lovely and kind and very helpful. The internet works fine - there are 2 networks to choose from. I was also very grateful to have access to a guest fridge in the kitchen area. We regretted cancelling one of the 2 nights we'd initially wanted to stay and only staying 1. For bonus points, there is also a little 8-week-old puppy :)

I'm at a loss for words to convey how delightful this stay was! The room and bed were exceptionally comfortable, offering an incredible mountain view. The staff was exceedingly welcoming, friendly, and warm, and the food, while generously portioned, was truly exceptional. As a starting point for hikes, this location is perfect. I wholeheartedly recommend it!

Wow! We didn't expect how lovely this place is designed. The pictures don't match the real world experience. It easily outperforms most 4 star hotels in Europe - super modern and well thought of. In addition the host is most caring and welcoming. Also it is perfect to do the most stunning hike on Santo Antao, from Cova to Pombas. Just book it, you certainly won't be disappointed. An unbelevable little oasis in the village at the bottom of the Paul Valley. The owner and staff are extremely friendly and helpful and the room was very neat and comfortable. Breakfast was served at the rooftop with a beautiful view. This is the perfect place to stay at Santo Antao.

Me and my sister had a wonderful time at Casa das Ilhas. We did amazing hikes, thanks to the owner Katelijne, who indicated the routes on our phone and arranges the transfer to the starting point of the hike. That was really great! Each evening we enjoyed a tasty dinner after a long day of hiking. The rooms are basic but contain everything you need, including a beautiful view and a very comfortable bed. We would definitely come back!

The staff was really nice and Judith helped out in organising a taxi from Porto Novo to the hotel, including an amazing tour through the island. Also we had a great time with Ivone who prepared very nice vegan breakfast. The hotel has a great terrace with a stunning view and the location is very nice.
