This is a beautifully redesigned and repurposed building in the historic center, very well done. I truly liked everything. The modern design with the historic layout inside with the patio and pool makes for a a great contrast. The room itself was really big, well equipped. The bathroom is really nice. The checkin and out was a breeze. Loved it. Its also midway between the center and the train station, so location is very convenient.

However, due to ongoing construction (beyond the hosts' control), navigating the area requires a bit of local knowledge and a willingness to bend the traffic rules slightly. Google Maps proves unreliable amidst the maze of detours, so relying on instincts and asking for directions is key. The narrow streets, especially with a larger vehicle, can be a bit nerve-wracking. The apartment itself is impeccably clean, tastefully decorated, and equipped with everything needed for a comfortable stay. The warmth and hospitality of the hosts, Raquel and her partner, truly make the experience exceptional. Raquel's recommendations are spot-on, guiding guests to hidden gems and must-visit spots. Virginia and her assistant Maria José were extremely helpful and friendly to feel at home at ‘la Gitanilla’ and with giving suggestions to experience the best of/in Jerez de la Frontera. The hotel has 10 rooms and a cosy roof terrace (where also the breakfast is served) with a nice view at the cathedral. The hotel and its rooms are very clean and tastefully decorated and we will absolutely recommend ‘la Gitanilla’ to our friends, as this small boutique hotel and its owners deserve it !!
