From the moment we were greeted at the door by Adrian, the whole stay was a delight. Y Fan is such a beautiful building, and has been restored/transformed with empathy and taste. The bedrooms are all of a good size, with beautiful en suite bathrooms and extremely comfortable beds. Breakfasts are freshly cooked, (with local produce where possible) and are generous in size. Adrian and Christine looked after us very well This was my third visit, and I'm hoping there will be a fourth next year..

We loved how clean and well-maintained everything was. The hot tub was a real highlight – so relaxing and with beautiful views. The bed was really comfy, and the indoor fireplace made the cabin feel warm and cosy. The kitchen had everything we needed, including pots, pans, cutlery, and even tea, coffee, and hot chocolate. The honesty shop was a lovely extra touch, and the hot shower was perfect after a day outdoors. Everything felt peaceful and thoughtfully prepared.

    The location was beautiful. The views to the front were amazing. The bar & restaurant was cozy and quiet. The breakfast was bang on and the service amazingly quick. The bar prices for food and drinks were very affordable - £5.50 for 2 pints! Select full meals for £4.50 (although we never ate at the hotel for dinner). Staff were friendly and welcoming. We were 20mins drive to Pen Y Fan at Brecon Beacons, about 10min drive to Trego Mills and loads of fast food joints.

    Steve is a wonderful host and very kind. He will provide all advice necessary and it’s nice and interesting to have a chat with him about other topics as well. The room was very clean and spacious. Easy parking. Very nice location to explore the nearby Caerphilly Castle. It’s really worth it. And Cardiff is only a short drive away. All in all I wish we had stayed longer than only one night.
