If you want to get away from it all, this is the place to go! My partner also very much enjoyed chatting about archeology. The place itself was cozy and many needs were considered. It was lovely being awakened by birds and hearing owls. I would definitely consider coming back if I was in the area again and will be recommending it to my friends! Be aware you WILL need a car to get to it.

Shepherd's hut is perfect for couples seeking solitude. Just enough room for your stuff inside the hut, on-site parking, well equipped kitchenette, nicely decorated, comfy beds, clean. There is a barbecue outside. Early in the morning you might be surprised by a deer family grazing in front of the hut. Views from the hut are amazing, especially in sunset. Highly recommend!

This was the first time that we have experienced this in all our road trips through Europe. You become immediately in love with this hotel when you step into this authentic landhouse. It is as if you go back 100 years in time. The atmosphere, the service, the food all gives you a feeling of a royal treatment. It is so pity that the hotel will probably close end of this year. We hope that the owner Mr. Gray will come back to his decision. It will be a loss for all future travelers.

We received free upgrade to an amazing large room with loch view. Much appreciated. Our dinner choices of duck confit/sausage as appetizer and a most delicious venison, main course, paired with a Romanian Pinot Noir were an excellent choice. The hotel’s isolated location at the end of a long one-way road was truly magnificent.
