Ulbster Arms is a very special hotel. On arrival, we sat out in the beer garden (on a beautiful warm Scotland day) and enjoyed a wonderful dinner and plentiful breakfast. Our room was very large, beautifully decorated and we had a comfortable, large bed. Staff were so friendly, especially the young girls serving in the restaurant.

The hosts were so amazing. They had a little sitting area and brought us tea and snacks when we first arrived. My daughter was in their play area building things and it felt really nice to come home to at night. It was quiet and yet still close to amenities in the area. The bathroom was huge and my daughter was so excited for the tub.

The owners were both amazing. The accommodation was nice and clean and just what we needed, but the owners made it superb. Next day we had few hours left after our check out before leaving the town and they offered us to leave our luggage and even ourselves in the shared room as it was raining outside. Also they got us the lift from Scrabster port which we would otherwise need to walk as there was no shuttle at the time. Amazing service , very nice people and can highly recommend.

Good central location in town. Walking distance from the railway station (10-15 minutes). During my stay it was abnormally cold weather, but the owner solved that by offering me an extra electrical radiator. Excellent full Scottish Breakfast!

    A stunning location for our trip around the North Coast. The rooms were impeccable - one inside the hotel, one in the lodges outside. Gorgeous setting. Quiet, peaceful. The food was amazing, too.

    Both breakfast and dinner were excellent. Staff are attentive and multi-skilled working in different areas of the hotel. On reception we were guided to our room. Location excellent - especially if you need to do a night's stay before heading over to The Orkney Islands, as it is only a quick drive to the barge.

    Scottish spirit that was in everything. The building itself is more than 120 years old, as i understood because of the picture in the restaurant. Free parking . Clean and cozy . Delicious food. Well, as for the location : if you are on these lands, it's quite late, and you are tired of driving. This is the best place to relax
