This is a beautiful gastropub with high quality accommodation. We stayed in a room with a small, private garden and it was all very well presented. The staff members were all helpful, professional and happy to have a chat with guests. The food was great and locally-sourced where possible. The Horseshoe is a fantastic base from which to explore this part of Yorkshire.

A fabulous place to stay in Pickering. My room was extremely comfortable with good facilities and bathroom. Luxurious linen and large towels with daily servicing of the room. The hostess couldn't be more friendly or hospitable, welcoming you as you arrive with a lovely pot of tea and biscuits and providing you with a cool drink when you return after a long hot day of sightseeing. Nothing is too much trouble for her as she takes great care of her guests. The back garden is a lovely restful and pretty retreat in the afternoon/early evening. The off-street parking situated inn the house grounds is a real bonus and I was also able to leave my car there after I checked out while I went to visit Pickering Castle. Breakfast is a real treat with lots of yummy options and a scrumptious cooked to order hot meal.

    Our arrival started with a warm welcome from our hosts. Our room was spotlessly clean and breakfasts were fresh and very tasty. Location was ideal for our visit to the area and only a short walk into the town centre for all amenities. We would certainly stay here again and would highly recommend.
