The location is a perfect jumping-off point for exploring the Lake District and there is free parking onsite. The bar downstairs is great, with a fireplace and a good selection of gin and whisky. The owners are so kind and helpful - they even made us some sandwiches on the first evening as we arrived a little too late to find food in Shap.
