These people are the most kind, generous and accommodating hosts imaginable. Through travel mishaps and changed flight times, we arrived late and had to leave early but someone was there for us with a smile and a kind word. Nothing we asked was too much trouble. The breakfast was incredible, the room was adorable and immaculate, the grounds are beautiful, the whole area is spectacular. Other hotels and inns should send their people to The Family Tree to see the proper way to care for guests.

We had an exceptional night on our road trip through the UK. The Victorian house is lovingly and beautifully restored. It is spotlessly clean and exceedingly comfortable. The room was spacious with clearly defined areas. It was equipped with microwave, toaster, fridge, kettle, hairdryer, and the simple breakfast provided was welcome (with the opportunity of also having toast for supper!). We didn't see our hosts, but they had thoughtfully provided information on local pub menus and walking trails. We were told that the key would be in the lock upon arrival, however, we did end up calling our host to help us get in, but that's because we simply were not pushing the handle down hard enough (thought the door was locked!). Press a little harder - it's one of those UK doors where you have to lift the handle before locking, and push down past the lock resistance point to open... they're more basic where we are from in Australia! If you are tall, you may need to duck to get through the low door, but the ceiling height is normal once inside. It was lovely to open the curtains in the morning to see the horses pop their heads out of the stable doors. Plenty of parking on site. Altogether a great 2-night stay.

    Great location for our needs. On site free car park to. Rooms set in a courtyard which makes it very private & very quiet. Helpful & pleasant staff welcomed us & showed us to our room. The room was very nice, very clean & bright. Tea & coffee, bottles of water & biscuits. Breakfast was superb with plenty of choice & cooked & presented very well. Overall a very pleasant stay. Thank you

    Ideal location. Had everything we needed. Thoughtful touches made by the owners. Loved the outside space to sit in during the evening. Breakfast was superb with friendly staff. Good food available in their all day cafe. Car park across the road. Handy shop up the hill in Crich. Near to tramway museum and Cromford. Nice walks nearby.
