beautiful accommodation, so clean, stunning interior, really luxurious and cosy. gorgeous views and lovely kind staff. let me drop off my bags and check in early and bags were in the room ready when i got back. very kind as i was alone with a toddler and lots of luggage. i’ll be booking here every time i visit kildare now :)

We stayed in the new annex beside the main hotel. We had the Cecily room, large spacious stunning room with a very comfortable bed. Beautiful bedding. Peaceful with a view out over the garden. A very peaceful nights sleep after a dreadful ferry crossing.

Before going to Trish and Padraig's house. We were in a difficult situation. A rental car accident cut our vacation short. We no longer had a vehicle. My wife complained of pain under her ribs. We arrived from our previous accommodation by train to Portalington station. Padraig came to collect us and took us to Portlaoise Emergency Department. He helped us out to take the train, so that our trip was not completely ruined. Writing these lines and thinking about it brings tears to my eyes, Padraig was so great. The breakfast is excellent. Trish and Padraig offer us a choice between several options: from Irish Breakfast, to Irish porridge accompanied by a shot of whiskey, to very good pancakes (there is even a Vegan version), I forget two. We were in the Charly caravan which is nice for a family experience. This mode is not limited to the caravan, because a living room with sofas, coffe, tea, and a flat screen was available in the house. Our last night we stayed in their most beautiful room (Lea Castle Room). Spacious room for 4, the beds are comfortable and the bathroom is large. The meal that can be served in the evening is very good. I am French and gastronomy is our strong point. Even though the context was gloomy, we were able to spend our last three days in a very pleasant place and with very kind people. Many thanks to Trish, Padraig and their daughter.

Very friendly welcome from the owner, big bathroom and lovely room…there was Porridge, Croissants and fruits in the room for breakfast. Really a good place to stay and close to Dublin.

I really like this place. The host is very friendly and respond quickly. Clean and well equipped. First time live in a loft. Lots of stairs to get to bed. But I like it. The place is warmed up quickly after turn the radiator on. I only realised it’s I turned the light bulb on , which hanging between the two stables in the late evening. My apologies to the people who live in opposite sides. I was puzzled how it could be turned off. The location is very good. It’s between the Kildare Village and Emo Court. 10-15 minutes drive to both places. I am a foreigner, this place is actually quite a distant to Dublin. There is a very good Italian takeaway on the front street. Enjoyed a fish and chips there.

5 Stars for A Peaceful Gem with the Kindest Hosts What a lovely stay! The location is perfect, tucked away in the peaceful Kildare countryside, yet just minutes from the outlet village and town centre. The space itself was bright, spotlessly clean, surprisingly spacious, and wonderfully quiet. Emer, our host, couldn’t have been more helpful, genuinely kind and thoughtful from the moment we arrived. She kindly arranged for some provisions before our arrival (which we reimbursed on check-in), and even offered secure lockup for our E-bikes. Little touches like complimentary fresh eggs from their own chickens made it feel extra special. We loved waking up to views of cows and chickens in the adjacent fields, and being so close to the National Stud and Japanese Gardens was a bonus. We spent our first day shopping at the outlet and did our returns the next (so handy being so close)! A peaceful, comfortable, and well-cared-for spot—we’ll definitely be back. Thanks so much to Emer and family!
