What a wonderful place and hosts. From the moment we arrived we were greeted with warmth, openness and baked goods! The chalet was built with their own hands and while a little basic, it was exactly what we wanted. The drive to the farm is past wonderful hills and lakes and we would have loved to spend many more days hiking the area, it left us with a desire to come back and visit Donegal for longer. It should be noted that there was barely any wifi reception which we needed to plan our route for the next day but with a little persistence we were able to connect for long enough for this purpose. In the evening Marion and Fiona gave us a little demo on their fiddles and we were very grateful to hear about their lives in Ireland and the centrality of music.

Wonderfully charming little spot with two lovely owners! If you stay here, ask Marion or Declan about climbing Aghla mountain. It’s not a defined trail and the path can get a little boggy, but it’s absolutely worth it for the view of Lough Finn below - and you can be guaranteed to have the whole mountain to yourself. Marion was a saint and made me some delicious apple scones for when I arrived. And Declan was kind enough to give me a lift into Donegal town on the morning I left, while educating me about some local folklore. If I had the time and money I would be very happy staying for much longer!

    The cottage itself was just beautiful, so quite and peaceful and the view from the window was breathtaking, it had plenty of equipment for cooking etc. The location was excellent, have stayed in different parts of Donegal before and this was by far the best location with so many places to visit nearby. There is a huge gorgeous beach only 10 minutes drive away. We would definitely stay here again and would highly recommend.

    Stunning scenery in a remote location. The welcome basket of provisions was a nice touch. Easy check in, host responsive & helpful with questions. Hot tub & the lovely little wood burner - made open plan cosy. All basic necessities catered for - thank you!

    The house is well equipped, clean and situated in a beautiful location. The living room window is fantastic to just sit at and enjoy the view. Communication and information provided from the host was great.

    Spotlessly clean cottage, well equipped, great location in a small wood, and a very warm welcome. The log burner in the living room was a nice feature and there was a good selection of board games and books. Friendly, helpful host and we would absolutely stay here again in future, thanks Andi

    Lovely, well-equipped cottage with everything you'd need for a comfortable stay. Modern kitchen and bathroom. Spotlessly clean! Lovely friendly welcome from Sandra, who ensured we were all set for our stay in the area and even brought fresh eggs laid by her own hens. Handy to a local shop and pub. Great location for exploring the area. Would definitely recommend!
