After a frazzled couple of days of driving, what surprised us most was the immediate calm we felt upon entering Castle Hackett. The room was big and beautiful, the beds were crisp and comfortable, and the shower was the perfect temperature. The children were delighted with the cows in the adjoining fields. Breakfast the next day was serene with the smell of the turf fire, the gentle lull of Irish music and the perfectly cooked breakfast. Did I mention the beautiful views of rolling fields, the interesting history of the building itself, the library filled with books, comfy chairs and board games or the looped forest walk leading to a castle ruin on your doorstep? Above all the warmth of Joyce and Aidan's hospitality was the highlight of our visit.

The best B&B we have stayed. Owner is very friendly, she gave us a very warm welcome. The bed was super comfortable, amazing (and enormous!) breakfast, good location. Couldn’t ask for anything better, everything was perfect!

We had a fantastic stay! The breakfast was excellent, fresh, delicious and a great way to start the day. Mary was incredibly nice, welcoming and always ready to help with anything we needed.
