During our three weeks' Sicily travel, our stay at Verdello Home was the very most pleasing and memorable. Roberta, Lio and Mauro were extraordinarily welcoming and accommodating, and wonderfully friendly and attentive. Our day of arrival, due to a surprise same-day virtual business meeting, we messaged ahead to request an early checkin. Roberta responded immediately and - fully three hours before our scheduled arrival - along with a pleasant staff member met us in the parking area to help with bags and took us directly without checkin to our room with desk (and excellent WiFi) to set up for our meeting. She then suggested a restaurant to quickly pick up takeout food (uncommon in Sicily) to gobble in our room pre-meeting. Later, after checkin, Roberta gave a detailed intro to the property, asked our interests, provided info on the local area, and recommended excellent places to eat. (We had delicious relaxed dinners at Pipispezzi and Aloha Mare, and a wonderful patio lunch at Osteria del Borgo.) The Verdello Home property, gardens, building, room, and furnishings are new and high quality, immaculately clean and well cared-for. The shower and water pressure were by far the best we experienced in Sicily. Large windows and spacious furnished balconies provide excellent views of the Sea. The location is perfect for visits to Savoca, Taormina and many miles of beaches and beachfront towns. During our stay, Roberta and Lio took time to casually chat. We asked many questions and learned a whole lot about the local area, traditions, culture, work and careers, and family life. We were impressed and touched to learn that - for Lio and Mauro - Verdello Home is a true labour of love honouring their Father (a physician who designed and built Verdello Home for his retirement) and their Grandfather (a farmer whose lemon trees still adorn the Verdello Home property). Our experience was first class and heartwarming, and our memories will be absolutely unforgettable.

What a lovely small B&B up in the hill near Savoca. Christelle, the owner, is a perfect host who also could help you with bookings for Etna and sightseeing and route recommendations. The breakfast was amazing with so many tasty items and so nicely set up. Also the room was decorated very stylishly, and it was large and had a nice outside seating area. The swimming pool was very welcome feature on a hot day when we walked to the beach and back.

Our stay at the Resort Borgo San Rocco was fantastic. My wife and I have never felt more welcome at a hotel; by the end of our two nights, it felt more like we were saying goodbye to distant Sicilian cousins than hotel staff. The view from the resort is stunning. We arrived at just before sunset as the shadows slowly stretched across the valley and the lights of the hill top towns in the distance started to sparkle. And we awoke to a glorious sunrise peaking first over the Ionian Sea and then drenching the hills, the flowers, the orange and lemon trees and the cactus that clings on to the sheer cliff edges creating a unique landscape. I cannot mention the location without also mentioning Savoca’s place in cinematic history. Two iconic scenes from The Godfather were filmed in this beautiful town: the Sicilian wedding, and the encounter at Bar Vitelli (which is now a cafe where we spent the afternoon sipping negronis, coffees and spritzes). Both church and the bar are within 15 minutes walk of the resort, and it is a very scenic walk at that. We didn’t feel the need to eat much at Bar Vitelli as the team at Resort Borgo San Rocco kept us well fed. The breakfast buffet is a spread of fresh fruit, freshly baked breads, tarts and pastries, home made jams and marmalade, freshly squeezed juice and great coffee. They were extremely accomodating for dietary requirements (my wife is gluten intolerant and there were multiple gluten free options for her at every meal). The dinners were also spectacular. The menu changes every night, the chef is committed to using as locally sourced ingredients as possible and every dish we tried during our stay was absolutely delicious. If you are driving to the resort I can highly recommend going in as small a car as possible. The road up to the village and then to the hotel is tight and windy, and you’ll navigate narrow cobbled streets that give the town so much character.

Although not far from the coast, but in a small quiet village away from the tourist traffic, with a real country life :) Clean, spacious and comfortable accommodation. Nice design and functional as well. With a lot of lovely details; you can see that the owner likes the place and and wants guests to feel good there. We just spent one peaceful evening and night in a wonderful atmosphere. Reserved place for parking right next to the apartment. Everything for cooking yourself. Last but not least: nice surprise on the table. :) Easy check-in, check-out, very nice and helpful host. Grazie mile, Antonella!

Very tidy, good smelling appartment situated directly in city center. Host was super nice even though speaking mostly Italian, google translator helped :-) she recommended great places to eat, it was really excellent. In order to show us where to park, she waited for us at the town entrance to navigate us. Absolutely stunning view from the appartment.

The staff were beyond friendly and helpful. The room was beautiful and the little balcony over the town was lovely. The town becomes very peaceful in the evening and early morning which was just magical. Breakfast was amazing, our choice of anything from the bar. The staff were very attentive and it was a wonderful place to stay.

    Everything! This is a beautiful hotel in an idyllic location. Rooms are spotless, we were given a free upgrade , and the upgraded room was super. Staff at the hotel are like one big family and make everyone who stays there so welcome. Views are stunning. Super pool. Narrow roads leading to hotel if you are driving, parking easy once at hotel.

    The location is amazing. It is on top of the hill with gorgeous sea views. It is one of those places you always wish you could stay in but never quite managed to find it. The rooms are very clean. Extremely quiet at night. The staff were so helpful and just happy to be of any assistance. Alessandra and Francesca and all the others were amazing. Great service. It is a very challenging drive up so be prepared to drive slowly. But it was all worth it once we made it to the hotel.

    This was one of the best accomodation travelling in Sicily. Very clean, spaceous room. Leo, the host, is great. And very helpul. If you are travelling by motorbike and car, this is the place to stay. Very safe and accessible parking. Location is good, you can visit nearby places around ( by car, motorbike or bus/train). Close to restaurants on the shore ( 500- 700m). Breakfast was good, in a cozy space to eat. We travelled by motorbike. Would definately come back.

    Fantastic location. Modern, very clean, everything in excellent working order and a fantastic view from the table and chairs outside!     Perfect location with a terrace. Very nice view over Savoca and the sea and the mainland of Italy. The owners are extremely nice and help you with everything. The place is spotless clean and everything you need is there.

    Everything was very very clean, towels were smelling so nice. We used kitchen which has almost everything in it. The view from the common terrace was amazing. Also, we had no car, and the location was 40 mins away by walk however the owners helped us by picking us up from the train station as well as brought us back when we were leaving. Owners are really really kind, helpful and friendly.
