We stayed here on our way to Ella whilst on a cycle tour. We had an exceptionally warm welcome and were given a fabulous meal in the evening - the best food we’ve had in Sri Lanka (and there’s been plenty!). It’s a lovely peaceful spot and there was plenty of wildlife to see from the terrace.

We loved our stay at Leisure Mount View. We booked 3 nights but stayed 4 as there was so much to do in the area and the hotel was fabulous. THE FOOD: We ate 3 dinners and 4 breakfasts at the hotel. The buffet dinner was delicious and offered more choice than anywhere else we've been in Sri Lanka. We also ordered from the menu one evening and the chicken biriyani was our favourite! The breakfast buffet was huge. On order were hoppers, toast with butter and jam, dahl, various sweet cakes, coconut string hoppers, as well as a lovely selection of fruit, fresh juices and tea/coffee. We were also offered eggs cooked however we liked. THE VIEW: Our big bedroom overlooked the incredible view of tea plantation fields and mountains. Each morning we opened the curtains and watched the sunrise. Beautiful. THE HOSPITALITY: Hashan and his team couldn't have done more for us. A printed folder, which included various local activities, including hikes, attractions (e.g Lipton Seat), massages, and a cooking class, was available at the reception to help plan our itinerary. We did the cooking class with Hashan's aunty and we loved it. We also enjoyed our chats with Hashan who shared lots of information about Sri Lankan life, culture and food. We were made to feel like we were more like old friends and not hotel guests.

We came as strangers and left as friends! Saman and his wife Madushi and his brother Shan together with their mum are incredible hosts! They are so friendly and helpful and gave us many tips for the area. The guesthouse was exactly what we were looking for. A beautiful view from the cozy and bright room. Food was always very delicious. The area is very calm, you can see sunrise and sunset from the tea plantation just 5 minutes from the guesthouse. We've planned to stay two nights but because it was so nice there we changed our plans and stayed longer. We also visited the local Sunday market to buy fresh vegetables and made a fabulous cooking course and learned how to cook traditional currys. We highly recommend to go there and experience unforgettable days in the middle of tea plantations. Thank you Saman, Shan and Family for the last days - We enjoyed every moment at your wonderful place. We will come back one day :-)

The owner was extremely helpful! He is very experienced and speaks very good English. A big THANK you for all of the tips you gave us sir! Great views from the balcony, spacious and comfortable room, rich breakfast. Everything one needs for a couple of days in Haputale, far from fuzzy Ella, but so close to the mountains and tea plantations.

The location is the best of the worse for those who are doing the Pekoe trail. Stage 11-12. It offers a breathe-taking view of the valley below. The owners gave us such great hospitality. The room was clean it gave us a much needed respite from a long day of hiking. If you are taking the pekoe trail, there is a shortcut to the location which is slightly off track. It’s short but intense but could save you 30mins to an hour. I suggest that you take it. Dinner and breakfast was sooooo good. Really nice after a long day of hiking

We visited Horton Plains and were looking for a place that felt safe, peaceful, and like home — and Tea Sprig Villa Boralanda was the perfect find! This is one of the newest and safest villas in the area, and from the moment we arrived, we felt completely at home. We stayed for 2 nights, and what made this place even more special is that we were their very first guests — what an honor! 🙏 The family running the villa is super friendly, warm, and caring. The food was absolutely delicious, fresh, and made with so much love. The clean fresh air, hot water, and beautiful surroundings made us feel like we were in heaven. This place is quiet, clean, and perfect for anyone looking to relax and recharge. We’re so grateful for the hospitality and unforgettable experience. We will definitely come again.     Beautiful peaceful location. A perfect place to refresh and reset away from the busier, more touristic areas. The owners are so kind and sweet, you will truly feel at home here. Also very delicious food ! And all at a very reasonable price. If you like to hike, you can summit Wangedikanda in a 5 hour round-trip (for FREE) Cannot recommend enough. Amazing !
