Ferndale’s philosophy is rooted in nature and respect for the ecosystem. It is a luxury hotel where sustainability and eco-friendliness take top priority. All food is locally and organically sourced, adding to the authenticity of the experience. We also had the opportunity to meet the owner, who shared his vision with great passion and pride, making us appreciate the concept even more. The retreat is located in the breathtaking Knuckles Mountain Range, near Kandy. The untouched nature makes it a perfect destination for stunning hikes, which are thoughtfully organized by the team. Along the trails, you can discover hidden waterfalls and encounter unique endemic wildlife. Lastly, we must highlight the outstanding service and incredible food. The staff goes the extra mile to make your stay unforgettable. The meals are amazing because of the freshness of the ingredients and the dedication put into every dish. This was the best staying we have had in two months in Sri Lanka. The house is the perfect size for a couple, everything worked very well and the views were breathtaking. The dog that was living in the garden was super cute. We were so happy with the way Eric was always available for any inquiries we had. Specially recommended the food, we order dinner and it was such a privilege to be able to have a wonderful dinner in the terrace.

A wonderful place to stay to visit Pallekelle Stadium and Trinity Rugby grounds. If visiting Kandy ideal quiet place away from the Hustle and bustle of Kandy town. Kandy city is about 30 minutes away by Bus or car. It is a very clean quiet place with very friendly and helpful owners and staff. Excellent value for the Room rates charged. Food was Reasonably priced and very tasty. We ordered Sri Lankan Lunch and Dinner. Bytes for snacks was excellent. Very well made Sri Lankan Tea. Towels and Soap were provided. Beautiful view of the Kandy Hantane Mountains Range. The place is located 100 Meters from the Kandy to Mahiyangana Road.

Rajiva was an excelllent host and guid. We spent here magnificent three days. The surrounding tea plantations and mountains have amazing views. The area is very authentic without many tourists, but with friendly local people, beautiful nature and lot of wild birds. The accommodation is very comfortable, beds as well. The balcony view is the best, we loved good breakfast with this view. The owner arranged for us transport to the next destination. Once again, thanks a lot Rajiva.
