This is something special. If you are bored with big expensive modern hotels and you are on the Morocco trip, try this. You will sleep in the old original earthen castle in so, so state (not collapsing, but not so far from this state, almost everything in this village looks like at the end of life cycle), but with very friendly owner who will prepare full tajine from scratch (not like in the restaurant, here you can wait almost two hours, it was excellent). Sit there, drink tea and relax. Fantastic return in time. Leave Ait Ben Haddou for tourist agencies, here you can sleep in the same buildings without any other tourists and crowds. Lovely place.

It is a very beautiful place. A beautiful garden. Rooms are beautifully decorated. If we are again in this area, we will stay there again. The dinner was the best dinner we had in Morocco. Staff extremely friendly.

warm welcome by the host with welcome tea, warm rooms. nice dinner and breakfast. They arranged a good guide , Abdiraman, who took us for an interesting walk through the palmeraie and its irrigation system. the effects of climate change are clear......no water in the river Draa. I used to swim here in this time of the year on the eighties and ninetees. dying palms and other trees. diminished agriculture. but still a very interesting place to wander around. see the old glaoui kashba as well. stunning.

Best part of our honeymoon! We are still overwhelmed by the beautiful mountain landscape, the greenery and the hospitality and kindness of the staff of the Hara Lodge. It is a lively oasis with green gardens, an amazing view and delicious authentic food (the best breakfast we had during our whole trip and great seasonal dinner). The staff was awaiting us with a traditional welcoming ceremony for newlyweds, a traditional romantic dinner in ceremonial clothing and a romantic honeymoon suite decorated with love and lighted by candles. It was a beautiful surprise and gift for our marriage! They also managed to organise a local artist to accompany our sunset dinner. We had the most magical time and are still full of gratitude for this experience and meeting these kind berber people. We couldn’t have dreamed of anything more and are certain to come back and to recommend this stay to our friends and family. Many thanks again to the most welcoming host Mohamed and the rest of the staff Khalifa, Amal, Naima, Meryem and so many more. Amazing place to stay, a true oasis in the mountains. We were welcomed as familiy and actually came back after a trip in the desert for 2 more nights. Really good food for breakfast and dinner and a truly tranquil place. Lovely hosts and Aziz took us for a tour of the different kasbahs in the area, a great experience.

Staying in this unique apartment within a deserted Ksar was an unforgettable experience. The setting is incredibly peaceful, with breathtaking views over the palm forest and lush green oasis. It’s the perfect place to disconnect and take in the beauty of the surroundings, with plenty to explore nearby. Ismael, the local host, made our stay even more special—generous with his time, knowledge, and local treats. We especially loved our walk through the garden with him—it was beautiful and full of stories. The only downside for us was the bed—being tall, we found it quite small and not ideal for a comfortable night’s sleep. If that’s a priority for you, just something to keep in mind. Still, the charm, authenticity, and peacefulness of the place made it all worth it!

Lovely restored riad run by a very friendly and welcoming family who went out of their way to make my stay a pleasant and memorable one. The home-cooked meals and sweets were also delicious.
