Location of the place is perfect, very close to the main road where you can grab a taxi, so if you're traveling with suitcases, you'll won't be walking for too long, which is not the case with some other places in the city. Rooms are well equipped, we had a tv, fridge and A/C, bar of soap and shampoo packet each, which was just about enough for our one day stay. Rooftop terrace is absolutely stunning with an amazing view of the mountains and the breakfast is superb, wonderful experience. Beds are very comfortable, we slept like babies. Everything is a short walk distance away, staff is wonderful and super friendly, customer service was beyond our expectations. We absolutely loved this place and will definitely be returning to it in the future.

Perfect stay at Iguana Azul in Chefchaouen My friend and I stayed at Iguana Azul for three nights and absolutely loved it. Our room was spotless, fresh, and felt almost new. The bed was huge and super comfortable, with two separate blankets — no fighting over the covers at night! There was also air conditioning, which made it even more comfortable. The hosts were incredibly kind and helpful throughout our stay. From the moment we arrived, they made us feel welcome and were always ready to assist with anything — whether it was questions about things to do in the area or helping us book a cooking class or hammam visit. Breakfast each morning was fresh and delicious, and the rooftop terrace is a beautiful, peaceful place to relax. The location is perfect too: right in the heart of Chefchaouen’s charming little streets. We truly felt at home and taken care of. This place is a gem and we’ll definitely come back. Special thanks to Jabir & Walid for everything — you made our stay unforgettable! M & A

Pastela for dinner was home made and delicious. Breakfast also made in kitchen on terrace and was delicious. Terrace view very good. Hotel quaint and very visually impressive with small sitting room at entrance that looks like Berber living room according to my guide. Room was cozy and warm. Hot water worked well.

The staff were very attentive. We arrived by bus. I was in constant contact with the hotel manager at the time, Zahid. I was struggling to catch a taxi so he sent one to pick us up. He then carried our luggage up lots of steps. We had mint tea constantly anytime we asked. It felt like home. The Terrasse was lovely to relax at any time of the day. The rooms were small but still comfortable. It is very close to the insta pictures of the blue city. Make sure to ask them for the correct directions if not you will miss out on the best part of the city. The architecture of the house is so beautiful. And I have to mention the towels! Super comfy!! There is also a lovely restaurant right next door the Zahid was able to make a reservation for us. Food was very good. This Dar is definitely on my list to visit again if I go back to Morocco!

I had the pleasure of staying at Hotel Gernika during my recent trip to Chefchaouen, and I couldn’t have been more delighted with the experience. From the moment I arrived, the hotel’s peaceful ambiance and stunning views of the Rif Mountains captured my attention. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, offering excellent service throughout my stay. They were always happy to provide recommendations on local attractions and restaurants, making me feel like a part of the community. The hotel itself is beautifully decorated with traditional Moroccan style, featuring intricate tile work and cozy, colorful rooms. My room was spacious, clean, and had everything I needed for a comfortable stay, including a private balcony that offered sweeping views of the famous blue-painted streets of Chefchaouen.

View, stunning location and staff/hosts were both fabulous from pre-arrival to departure. Home was lovely, clean and in a perfect location to look over the medina, with easy access from nearby public car parking. Breakfast was truly delightful, best home cooked breakfast in Morocco. Recommend highly.
