Our safari guide Baba was amazing. He was attentive to all of our needs throughout the stay and helped us organize onward transport at the end. The lodge provides free filtered water (instead of using plastic bottles), really living up to its eco lodge name.

You become one of the Family at Golden River, I had such a fantastic time here, a wonderful family led by Pappu, Incredible guide, the most delicious food & the best location 😍😍 I saw so many birds just sat on the porch drinking Masala Chai, Recommend to anyone who wants to fulfill their dreams of seeing the wildlife & experience the warmth & hospitality of a great local family, & yes, I saw 3 Tigers amongst so much other wildlife!!!! 😍😍🐯🐯😍😍

Everything was perfect ! First the staff is amazingly friendly and we would like to thank you again Sonja, Buddhi and Manmohan. The cleaning lady and the rest of the staff were also very nice and helping. The room itself looks better than the pictures and was very confortable. Since they provide free filtered water, meals and card payements it is not a problem to be a little bit away from the village. If you still need to go there it is a 20-25 min walking distance. The big bonus of the stay is the fire place which encourage all guests to talk and share their adventure ! The meals were very good with reasonable prices and large choice. Finnaly, the hosts organised 3 days of safari (both jeep and walking) in Bardia and it was truly thé best experience of our lives (not kidding) for very reasonable prices (even for quite low backpackers budgets like us). We want to give a last special thanks to Manmohan which was our incredible guide for this adventure. Thank you again for being so nice and helpful with us. We really hope that we will come back one day 😊

We had a very relaxing and enjoyable stay. The garden is beautifully decorated with plenty of seating areas to sit back and unwind. Our room was spacious and clean, and the staff were consistently friendly and helpful. The highlight of our visit was definitely the tour—our guide went above and beyond to make sure we saw all the amazing wildlife. Great Food.

After a long bus drive we were warmly welcomed by the family at Mr. B’s place. We stayed for 3 nights and did a walking safari and two jeep safaris and were lucky to see both tigers and rhinos. Mr. B’s son is the most talented guide we’ve experienced on our trip. Throughout the safari tours he would explain what he was looking and listening for so you always felt like part of the safari from beginning to end. The safaris themselves are worth the stay at Mr. B place and they also charge very fairly for the stay and the safaris. The family were very helpful helping us getting a bus to Pokhara wich completed the stay completely. We had the most amazing and would totally recommend! Sincerely two danish girls

Had a great time at Jungle Base Camp with Hukum and his family! The lodge is basic but there is everything you need : fast internet, room with private bathroom, food is great, especially the chapatis, common area for chilling. Location is really close from the jungle and the park entrance! I had safari with Hukum during three days, we were really closed to see the tiger as we heard him roar in the bushes 30 meters from us, but You'll see plenty of other animals too! Hukum and his family were really helpful and did everything they can to help me. Special thanks to Hukum's son, 6yo, who made me play plenty of games at the lodge. Will come back for sure!

    Great location very near National Park Entrance. Most memorable was meeting the loveliest people, staff and owners, you could hope to meet. Did everything they could to give us, an elderly couple - a great stay. Good safari - forest trek and evening outing. Unbelievable value for money. Unreservedly recommend for a no frills stay that will stick in your memory

    The room was bigger than I expected, never before have I gotten so much space in a nice place, especially for such a low cost, this place had the most space. The water treatment aparatus was an excellent resource for drinking water so my water needs were strongly met. Everyone was very accomodating and I got along well with all of them and I had a perfect dedicated workspace to work on my computer.

    The accommodation was very comfortable and clean. This place is the most affordable in the area with rooms with air conditioning, hot water and mosquito nest, which we loved. The restaurant menu was cheap too compared with other places we had stayed in the area. The staff is very friendly and goes beyond to help you (bought and took us to the bus station when we left).

    This new hotel is a place you shouldn't miss! the price is unbelievably cheap! and the location, especially if you are a birdwatcher, is the best! It is across the river, with very beautiful area and well-designed cottages. You can stay there forever and chill! The staff are very friendly and the owner, Krishna, who is young but experienced guide provides you anything you need.
