Took our breakfast with us. It has only been built for 4 years and is new. The location was excellent a short walk to the main street. The Com is attached to the Pub the Commercial Hotel so could pop in for a drink or a meal if you liked. The building design was quite different with separate motel rooms(almost a tiny home) separated by empty garages on two levels Our room had lovely afternoon sun. Plenty of parking and space. Built in front of the big rock cliffs of Whakatane and the Tuis were very busy in the bush in the morning - lovely.

best holiday park ever! the family cabin we had with two rooms was spacious and super clean. the beds comfortable and everything impeccable. the staff super nice and the whole park absolutely well maintained!! better than any hotel family room/apartment we had in NZ so far.

The Nutshed is an absolute gem of a place. It was a warm welcoming space beautifully decorated with a modern fully-equipped kitchen. I would recommend it for anyone looking for a place to stay in the Bay of Plenty area that is a little of the beaten track but still close to Whakatane.
