A lovely hotel in a quiet area just a short walk from the centre of the village. The room was clean, comfortable and well appointed and the staff were very friendly and welcoming. I would stay here again.

This is by far one of the most special places we’ve been to. I read a review where one said it was worth the 500 km detour from Tunis, I’ll give you a better one: it’s worth a 4000 km detour from Amsterdam! The setting, the views, the amazing rooms, the village itself, the location, the hospitality and company and above all, the delicious dinner and breakfast. It was perfect from start to finish. Sabrina and Patrick, you have created something unique down there. Thx for everything. À la prochaine, insAllah.

The host is very friendly, hospitable, and helpful. I felt very comfortable and at home staying the night here. The rooms are also very interesting, since they are traditional dwellings carved in the Earth. It felt like staying in another world. Would stay here again in a heartbeat.

A unique experience, highly recommended! Habib and his family were very welcoming, friendly, and helpful. The dinner and breakfast were also (by far) the best meals we've had during our entire 10-day trip across Tunisia. Would definitely make a point of returning there if we make it to this part of the world again.

Situated in Matmata in the Gabes region, dar fatma matmata has a balcony and mountain views. Private parking is available on site at this recently renovated property.

Big kind welcome by Joseph. He understood what two weary cyclist needed after a day in 35+ temperatures. Even let us choose from two big apartments and threw in a free breakfast at five!! In the morning so we could start pedaling in agreeable temperatures.. big 10 out of 10
