Traveled in Guatemala with my 2 daughters to celebrate my 50th birthday. Posada Woochooch is beautiful and is a safe little family hotel. It has a peaceful and beautiful garden. We loved the location, not too touristy, it was quiet but close to everything. Communication with staff was great. The family who runs the hotel was very friendly and helpful. Every day their sweet dog Rocco would welcome us. We had a shared bathroom, but everything was kept very clean so it really didn't matter. Highly recommend.

The location of the hostel sits nicely off one of the main streets, so it's less busy but still very well connected to city central. Andrea herself, as mentioned, is fantastic. She is incredibly generous with her knowledge of both the pueblo, people, and life.

Even it is not the cheapest place you can get, you most definitely get more than you are expecting. The bathroom was the biggest surprise. It comes with a free standing tub from where you have a really nice view over the lake and the volcano on the opposite lake side!

I love the location! It's lush and green and overlooks the San Juan Mirador and mountains. Best of all it's quiet! The design and position of the cabins are great for privacy but also a bit of community building. Absolutely stunning restaurant with delicious and fresh food. Staff are incredible people full of information, warmth and passion. They are patient and kind. This place is absolutely perfect and possibly underrated. One of the best places I've ever stayed in my 20 years of solo travel. The photos do not do this place justice. It's pure unfiltered magic. Do yourself a favor and book the Temazcal (traditional sauna). You won't regret it. If you get lost, ask a local somewhat close by where Eco Hotel Mayachik is they will know right away. The lack of signage leading to the property is probably a good thing! Keeps it a little hidden. The dogs are friendly and only seem to bark at moving vehicles. One last thing....check for the spiky caterpillars before you climb into bed. One snuck under my pillow.

I like that the owner kind of divided female traveller in a room from the male one Also every bed has its own curtain, it feels like you have your own bedroom, provided with bed light, plugs, towel and soap) I actually have 2 single beds for myself. The toilets are clean and the shower is hot and has good pressure (just wait 5 min for the hot water, because it doesn't come straight away). The hostel gives water, tea and coffee for free. But you can also have a really nice breakfast for a small price. Another thing they offer is a laundry service (I didn't use it, so I actually don't know a lot about it) The man who runs the place is very nice and polite..
