The hosts were lovely and extremely welcoming and helpful. We had a wonderful time, it could not have been better! The garden is beautiful and the perfect place to relax. Additionally, the food in the restaurant was very good and clearly prepared with love and care. For people exploring the south of Tunisia (and birds or other wildlife), the location is great - supermarkets and tank stations nearby in Kebili - while the Sahara, mountains and salt lake are all within an hour drive. I cannot recommend this place enough, and when we return to Tunisia we will for sure visit Dar Barka again!

Everything Great! The apartment is big, spacious, brand new, super equipped. Extremely clean. A great place. The owner is a woman with a huge heart, and with great patience. She does everything to make your stay as comfortable as possible. I add one last thing; I am usually a model guest, but this time I was unbearable: she was always friendly and understanding. Absolutely recommended.

From the very beginning, an easy going check-in, and relaxed atmosphere with smiles and waves greated us into a stunning and scenic location right by the edge of the desert. We were shown to our rooms which were cleaned well, and had all of the facilities we needed including extra blankets as we went during the cold December months. Ali even had the forethought to pre heat the rooms to a perfect temperature before we went to bed. We went on a dromedary trek about 1 mile into the desert, giving a real feeling of freedom and having a proper desert experience. Ali arrived with us, and set up a fire while we watched the sunset, and then cooked us a delicious meal, including cooking bread in the sand which was prepared incredibly well. Once back, he invited us to chat about our trip, and was just really friendly the whole time we were there. The following day, we took a plunge in the thermal pools which is about a 30 second walk from the site, another example of how perfectly located L'Oasis is I cannot speak highly enough of this incredible experience, and would recommend it to anyone in a heartbeat. I only wish we could plan another trip here, sooner, so we can see Ali and his amazing location again!

In addition to the stay, I recommend the experiences they propose. The typical dinner is an incredible experience and the walk in the desert with the camels guided by Abdallah was magical. The structure is suggestive and well cared for. It was a real pleasure.

Our stay in Douz was one of the best parts of our Sahara Desert road trip. The apartment is in the heart of the town, making it easy to walk anywhere. The location was even better than we hoped. The apartment itself was large, clean, and had everything we needed. The beds were very comfortable, and the space felt open and welcoming. The host, Faoizi, was on another level. He was always ready to help and kept in touch with clear communication. One evening, we joined him at his café to watch the World Club Cup semifinal, which made us feel part of the community. The highlight of the stay was the 4x4 sunset jeep tour into the Sahara. It felt real and unique. We enjoyed Berber food cooked in the desert and over a cup of traditional tea while learning about local life. We arrived in Douz as guests but left feeling like friends. This was more than just a place to stay; it was an experience we will never forget. Shukran Faoizi and see you soon!
