Cabins in Drake

From the start a wonderful experience. The beautiful rooms are very clean and have serene view into the jungle to spot wildlife directly from your balcony! The amazing staff goes above and beyond and made our stay exceptional with delicious breakfast and dinners, tour transfers, and tips for beaches, hikes and more. - Thank you Alfonso, Anita and Carlos. Perfect location, lovely couple that own it, could have been more helpful. Incredible restaurant, the food was amazing and the room has everything you need for a lovely stay.

The house and facilities are very beautiful and comfortable. The garden is very well maintained.

Sebastian and Maria were the most amazing hosts. We had to change plans at the last minute due to road closures and cancelled accommodation. After confirming last minute availability at Bajo Bosque, I had a WhatsApp message 5 minutes later from Sebastian re-assuring us he'd be waiting on the beach to transfer us to Bajo Bosque after our boat transfer from Sierpe (we highly recommend this route in to Drake Bay). On the first morning, Sebastian took us into town and pointed out the best shops to buy fruit, veg and store-cupboard supplies. Later in the week when we experienced a power outage, Sebastian was down in a heartbeat with a gas burner so we could make our morning coffee and breakfast. We saw so much wildlife from the balcony of Bajo Bosque, with messages from Sebastian each time he spotted a Sloth in the trees. The Macaws were also a common sight in the trees road-side. We enjoyed the easy 20 minute walk down to the start of the Drake Bay hiking trail (spotted a Tapir on the road at night!). We were travelling with kids, and there was never a complaint about the walking because we always saw so many exciting things long the way. Sebastian also offers transfers at a reasonable cost which are well worth it to explore more of the Drake Bay Hiking trail. Our change in plans meant that we stayed 3 nights longer than originally planned, spending 7 nights in total. This was in hind-sight such a great alteration to our itinerary because our stay at Bajo Bosque was hands-down the best part of our 3 week holiday in Costa Rica. We'd also highly recommend a creek tour with José whose knowledge of frogs is incredible!

The room was like the pictures suggested: nice, spacious and clean. All accomodations needed were present, The owners are extremely friendly and helpfull. The property has a nice garden with lots of white faced monkeys! The breakfast was delicious. Would definitely recommend!

Our room was amazing, with the most beautiful view and everything we needed. Breakfast on the balcony was perfect, and they helped us booking the boat from sierpe and the tours in Corcovado. We were really sad to leave this little paradise!

Our stay in the Corcovado Green Cabin was a highlight and the perfect end of our Costa Rica trip! Raquel was so lovely and the cabin was just beautiful, very clean and located in such a peaceful area. We only needed around 10 min by walk to arrive at the beach, where we literally were the only 2 people! Our highlight was the great view which we enjoyed in the morning during breakfast or in the evenings watching the sunset. We totally recommend it and would come back any time! We were in Costa Rica for three weeks and this was our favorite spot by far! Rebecca and her team are lovely, very attentive. The local cook, Tati, was just the sweetest and she prepared every meal with such care. I am intolerant to gluten and she was able to come up with lovely recipes to accommodate my needs. But the best part is the reserve itself. It is very remote (Bahia Drake is itself quite remote, and the reserve is about 20 minutes away from town by car). The kind of place you go to to completely disconnect from the outisde world, to reconnect with nature and with yourself. Aside from the beautiful proprety where you can chill in hamacs and swim in the river, there is a beautiful trail that leads to a waterfall and swimming hole. That is where we spent our afternoons, completely alone because no tourists venture there apart from Rebecca's guests. Rebecca is a biologist and she is very knowledgeable of the local animals, insects and plants. She cares deeply about her reserve and about wildlife preservation in Costa Rica. We had a couple of tours planned during our 5 night stay and I wished we hadn't because all I wanted to do was stay at Tamandua!! There are 7 rivers to cross to get there. We had rented a small 4X4 and had no problem getting through. I was quite worried about the river crossings and Rebecca was kind enough to meet us in town to guide us through.

Beautiful spot close to the magical Corcovado National Park. Wendy was amazingly helpful and made the best cocktails in the bar 🍹
